Most people want Jesus to save them and bless them, but don't want Jesus to be in charge of their life. In the story of the Rich Young Ruler we see that in His great love and wisdom, Jesus is not interested in being our Savior unless He is also our Lord.

Anxiety, depression, anger, sadness, and death were never supposed to be part of our world...yet here we are - and those things are all to familiar. Something happened between God's Perfect Creation and today that changed everything - life as we know it.

Scripture: Genesis 3

Fill in the blank: "I am_________." What word did you choose? Chances are the word you chose has something to do with what you believe about yourself. We all have a word that we would put in that blank, but what if we we're not supposed to be the ones to fill that blank in? What if your Creator was the one who was supposed to fill that blank? If God were to fill in the blank, what would He write?

Want to know what your life will look like in 5 years? Take a look at your friendships today. Our lives are always moving in the direction of closest relationships, and the influences we surround ourselves with today will pull us toward something tomorrow. The question is...do we like the direction we are headed?

Scripture: 1 Samuel 16

Luke 15 shares the parable that Jesus was telling about if a shepherd has 100 sheep and one goes missing, He leaves the 99 for the one. Sometimes we might not feel like the one who is lost, but rather like the one being left behind. It can feel as though you're forgotten about after you've been saved and you're left wondering, "Now what?". But Jesus hasn't forgotten about you, or left you. He is continually chasing after you because He is the Good Shepherd.

Scripture: Luke 15, John 10, Isaiah 53

It can be difficult to accept forgiveness, especially in light of how difficult our pasts can be to overcome. In the story of Paul, we see how God does not need our pasts to fit a mold for His forgiveness to work. His love is all encompassing, and if we ask, we will receive redemption through His grace.

Scripture:  Acts 9:1-18

What are you dedicated to? Would you be willing to die for it? What about being willing to live for it? A relationship with a weak foundation will fall apart,  but the key isn’t to be “willing to die” for someone. God instead asks us to live for him. Stephen embodied this relational ideal, and on this night we come to better understand it by looking at his trial and death. 

Scripture: Acts 6:8 to Acts 7:60, 1 Kings 8:61

Being transparent with others has the power to change your relationships for the better! By looking at the story of Ananias and Sapphira, we can learn why dishonesty about ourselves is destructive. God calls us to transparency in our relationships. If we follow His example, what we are known for will transform alongside us.

Scripture: Acts 5:1-10

We are all known for something. Some things that we are known for we are okay with...other things, not so much. Our actions today will be what we are known for tomorrow. Are your actions today helping you be known for the things you want to be known for? Or are they helping you be known for the things you don't want to be known for?

In Acts 2 we read that the early church was known for a lot of things, but one of the most prevalent things they were known for was their kindness. Tune in to see how being known for kindness changed the world, and how we might be able to do the same.

Jesus wants to heal us, but before that can happen we need to be real about the fact that we're not okay. In Luke 8, a crowd who though they were doing alright surrounds Jesus. In this crowd was one woman who had a pretty embarrassing medical issue & because of it knew she was not okay.
