In this episode, we begin examining the gospel story that is found throughout Scripture, starting in the book of Genesis. The opening pages of the creation story reveal that God has created a good world with people as his image bearers. The writer of Genesis presents this story in temple language, and reminds us that God's plan for creation is flourishing as we live in connection with God and each other.

This is the first message in our new series "The Gospel." We begin by talking through the initial story of the gospel and the fact that the gospel is so much bigger than what we typically make it out to be. Further, Scott gives a definition for the gospel that we will use throughout this series.

In this episode, we conclude our series "Deconstructing Church" by discussing the idea of the church as a gathered and scattered body. Further, we ask the question, "What's next for us?" The answer is to follow the example of the early church. We focus on our corner of the Kingdom by embodying the way of Jesus in our local communities.

In this message, we hear from Jericho Rhoten as we continue in our series Deconstructing Church. Jericho invites us to consider the role of the Porch, which is one of the spheres of influence discussed in the book The Church as Movement. She shares some great practical advice on building relationships and challenges us with the question: Do we build community because we want to be a good friendly people? Or, do we build community because we want to care for people the way God cares for people?

In this message, we look at idea of the church as a "Pathway." Now, a pathway could be many different places in our lives--and we discuss some of those--but what is important to know is that in this setting we are the invited guests. We learn that what our world needs right now are not experts with all the answers, but people who are being formed in a Christian way of life that allows us to serve as guides for what God is up to.

This is the second episode in our series "Deconstructing Church." Here, we look at the concept of the church as a gathered body, a parish. We also examine the practices of the early church that led to growth, change, and formation.

In this message, we jump into a new series called "Deconstructing the Church." Scott invites us to consider the mission of the church as described in Scripture versus our current methods of doing church. We learn that at its essence, the mission of the church cannot be divorced from engaging in relational community.

Our theme for 2023 is "The Year of Jubilee." In this message, Scott shares about some of the challenges facing FCC in this new year and our response moving forward as we embrace the uncertainty and unraveling we see around us, and choose to dwell with God.

FCC has labeled 2023 as "The Year of Jubilee." Last week, we kicked this off with a special Jubilee Sunday celebration and overview of what Jubilee is all about. In this message, Scott unpacks the origins and practice of Jubilee. We learn that this year of celebration and reset will have lots of excitement and challenges to face, but also that Jubilee is really about us learning how to embody God’s character in the world in which we live.
