Join us for an episode with our Honorary Captains of the Week, Daniel Sobkowicz, Illinois State Redbirds wide receiver and Managing Partner at Northwestern Mutual Chicagoland Ryan Kramer. Not only is Daniel leading the charge on the field, but he’s also championing a cause close to his heart: the fight against childhood cancer.
In this special episode, we’ll dive into Daniel’s role in Northwestern Mutual’s groundbreaking nationwide challenge with Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, one of the top organizations funding childhood cancer research and supporting families across the U.S. Last year, 13 FCS football all-stars competed to raise both funds and awareness, with South Dakota’s Aiden Bouman taking home the Lemon Trophy after raising an impressive $45K. This year, the stakes are even higher – with 12 universities joining forces to push the goal over $250,000.
With over $60 million contributed to the cause since 2012 and more than 700,000 hours of research funded, Northwestern Mutual is setting new standards in the fight against childhood cancer. Sobkowicz, along with his Redbirds teammates, is tackling this challenge with the same dedication they bring to the field, knowing that every dollar raised helps bring us closer to better treatments and cures for the 1,000 children diagnosed with cancer each day.
Tune in to hear how Daniel and other FCS athletes are inspiring their communities, driving meaningful change, and becoming the next generation of philanthropic leaders. And if you want to support the cause, head to FCSNATIONRADIO.COM, check out the Alex’s Lemonade Stand wing, and click on Daniel’s name – or join the LemonTop Challenge. Every donation makes a difference. Let’s make an impact together!
