Over the last 8 years, HOPE not hate’s Fear and Hope reports have sought to understand Britain’s different ‘tribes’, groups of people with similar worldviews, and what drives those groups. Brexit’s turmoil has sparked a huge change in those groups, driven to a great extent by political distrust, which itself is also driving new spikes in intolerance. Rosie Carter's long-term research into the views of the nation reflects this by updating our 7 ‘tribes’ to better reflect the landscape of the UK. Matthew McGregor talks with Rosie about her findings and asks if there are ways to find Hope amidst the fear and the loss faced by so many today.
