In this episode, I speak to embracing the "human paradox" that we are created in the image of God, and yet we aren't perfect. Each one of us is created as a miracle - and although we make mistakes, it doesn't mean we ARE the mistake. There is nothing wrong with you however, "You don't have to be sick to get better," as Michael Josephson reminds us. And, the world needs YOU to step into your version of better! I also share how belief drives behavior - and behavior reinforces belief.
In this episode, I share some thoughts on how boundaries can help us both personally as individuals and in relationships. But, if we aren't going to honor our boundaries, we can't expect others to honor them either.
This episode is inspired by a chapter I wrote in my soon to be released next book, Fearfully and Wonderfully Me, where I talk about the behavior gap, that is, the gap between our current state and our desired future state, and how behaviors help us cross that gap or not. It's critical to identify when we are simply in motion versus actually taking action because motion feels good but doesn't help us cross the behavior gap.
In this episode, I am joined by my friend, Tonya Telesco to talk about some of the principles for personal growth from her book, "Walking Off Your Map." She’s also Co-Founder of “Your Second Act”, a ministry that empowers women to reinvent their lives to fulfill their God-given purpose. You can learn more about her on her website: TonyaTelesco.com
In this episode, I share what I call the "elements of transformation" and how these elements have helped me transform from the 19 year old sex trafficking victim who left home with not much more than a duffel bag and a pillow case of clothes, to the international speaker and author I am today. I'll be sharing much more about these elements in my next book - stay tuned for more details!

Let's face it, whether you are suddenly working from home and out of your routine, dealing with elderly parents who don't understand why they should stay home, having to deal with (and entertain, teach, and feed) kids who are out of school three months early, laid off from your job due to the economic ripple effects from COVID-19, or just one of the unlucky people who can't find toilet paper, there is an enormous amount of stress right now.
Here are some ideas for handling that stress!
Darla Harms is a Leadership Speaker, Coach, Trainer, and author. Her new book will be coming out in May of this year and when I heard the title I knew this would be a great topic for a podcast episode. Darla’s new book is called, "No Fat Girls Allowed; Overcoming Shame and Living in Authenticity.” I really enjoyed our conversation and I know you will too - Darla brings a wisdom, humor, and openly shares her story of overcoming body shame that held her back for years.

This episode is inspired by Michael Sciortino's quote, "What you decide to do is important because you are exchanging a day of your life for it."
Determination is the "trump card" when it comes to success in life. It's more important than talent, skill, or experience. It's more important than knowledge. Because determination is the grit and perseverance to keep going when it's not easy, or when you aren't going to reach a goal as quickly as you expected. In this episode, I share an example of how this came up for me recently. Confession: I'm not great at everything I do, but I'm determined not to quit and that makes up for a lot!
