This week, we are talking about the 1981 film, Hell Night!
The Linda Blair-starring teen horror flick is about a group of fraternity/sorority pledges who have to spend the night in a spooky mansion. What starts off as harmless pranks quickly turns into a night of real horror and deranged monsters.
Well, that's probably what the marketing said about it anyway. As Pete explains, its kind of a cheap, schlocky mess that doesn't make a lot of sense and is very much of its time.
Join us as we pick apart this "stalk 'n slash" cult hit, and remember: don't get too scared!

This week, we take you back to the things that haunted you as a child: shadows that look a bit too much like people, bumps under the bed, and closets that act as portals through space and time!
No, it's not a sci-fi film. Its 2005's Boogeyman! This Sam Raimi produced film stars the oldest son from 7th Heaven as a man who has been terrorized since childhood by an evil entity that lurks in the shadows. He must return home to face his fears and stop this monster from claiming the lives of more children.
Created by Eric Kripke, this movie plays out like a dry run for the formula of his eventual hit show, Supernatural. Handsome leading man, monsters out of folklore and urban myth, and dark shadowy sets.
Pete relays why he has a soft spot for this mediocre horror flick, while Sarah plays "spot that actor before they broke big". Hint: this movie is worth half your daily servings of Deschanel sisters.
Tune in as we discover what goes bump in the night, and remember: don't get too scared...

We had such a fun time talking about cave diving and flesh eating monsters, we decided to do it again!!
Join us again as Sarah breaks down The Descent 2, which sees our only surviving character from the first movie being forced by authorities to return to the cave system to find the people they believe she murdered.
Pete is incredulous, but he comes along for the ride if only to see more monster mayhem. Strap in and take the plunge back into darkness with us, and remember, don't get to scared!

A group of women go cave diving and find something waiting for them in the dark...
Join us as Sarah breaks down Hollywood's best reason to never explore nature ever put to film. This movie is scary enough with the monsters, but damn does the claustrophobia do the heavy lifting.
Pete wants none of the crawling through 18 inch wide tunnels, and would rather fast forward to people getting their throats ripped out by the Gollum-on-steroids monsters.
Strap in as we venture into the depths of the Earth, and remember, don't get too scared...

April Fools!
In celebration of the most annoying of holidays, you all get a movie about a prank gone horribly wrong, The Burning!
Join us as Pete tells the story of a group of camp kids (clearly played by adults) who prank a guy by setting him on fire! And of course, he survives and seeks his revenge on... an entirely different camp full of people who did nothing to him.
This early 80's Halloween rip off was conceived before Friday the 13th, but released afterwards. It certainly plays as a cheap, store brand version of the Jason franchise.
Will Sarah be impressed by the Tom Savini special effects, sexist writing, and debut roles of future stars like Jason Alexander and Holly Hunter??
Tune in and find out! And as always, don't get too scared...

It's finally time we talked about the most famous horror movie of all time:
The Exorcist!
Join us as Sarah breaks down this holy horror about a young girl possessed by a demon and the two priests who attempt to save her eternal soul.
We learn a bit about the supposedly cursed production, and Pete shares some info about the hit-and-miss sequels and prequels that came after this classic piece of cinema.
Don't let the devil sneak into your body at night, and more importantly: don't get too scared!

It is only a matter of time before all franchises end up in outer space, but some get there sooner than others.
On this St. Patrick's Day celebration, we continue our tradition and Pete subjects Sarah to the horror of Leprechaun 4: In Space! The little magical menace has found himself in the far future and across the galaxy, trying to steal gold from mining operations and marry alien royalty to make himself a king.
Never before has the low budget of this franchise been more obvious. Between horrible late 90's CGI and recycled video game sound effects, its clear that this fearsome folktale should have stayed on Earth.
So join us as we boldly go where so many franchises have gone before, and remember: don't get too scared!

Critics will call it a crime-drama, but we know the truth: Seven is straight up horror!
Join us as Sarah discusses one of the darkest serial killer stories in cinema. Morgan Freeman and Brad Pitt must stop a madman with a love of Bible stories. Kevin Spacey stretches his acting ability by being a complete piece of shit. And Pete tries to keep his lunch down as Sarah describes all of the gross, gory horror of Seven!
And as always Fearless Fans, don't get too scared!

Happy Valentine's Day!
This year's entry is a little known film about a woman being hunted by the most inept serial killer of all time throughout a hospital that is madder than a hatter. That film also has about four different titles, depending on where you see it. We settled on Hospital Massacre, but it is also commonly titled X-Ray in a lot of regions.
This movie features pervy doctors, rude contractors, three old crones from a Shakespeare play, mystery plots that the script forgets to wrap up, the worst "whodunit" reveal in the history of film, and much more!
So grab your loved one and settle down for a romantic evening of slasher kills and a fun game of "let's hide the bodies!" And as always, don't get too scared...
