This week, we talk about The Place Promised in Our Early Days, a solid movie set in an alternate reality. The story worked well for Jack but felt shaky at best for Rick. However, both agree that the artwork was impressive, and overall, they enjoyed the movie. It’s definitely worth at least one watch.

We’re diving into Overlord: The Sacred Kingdom, a movie that fills in the gaps between Episodes 7 and 8 of Season 4. So, if you’re a fan of the series, then this is a must-watch for sure. The film delivers a solid story that stays true to the main series while also adding its own flair. You can expect some great comedic moments and some scenes that expand on the main plot from the series.

Our Scores:

• Rick’s Score: 9/10

It was a Jack solo episode this week, and it was one that Rick was lucky to miss out on. The pick was inspired by Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, but it went off into parody territory, changing the original tale to fit the writer’s vision. And for Jack, it just didn’t hit the mark. The story felt bland, kind of like it was thrown together without a strong direction. This one definitely is one he won’t be revisiting.

Our Ratings:

This week, we’re exploring a dark comedy with a unique take on the classic Truck-kun trope. Instead of transporting someone unwillingly, it brings over someone wishing to leave their current life. Our main character actively seeks death in this new world but ends up surviving against all odds at every turn. This twist on the usual formula offers a fresh perspective, but it’s important to note that the show deals heavily with themes of suicide, making it a thoughtful yet challenging watch.

This week, we tackle movie number three, giving us the epic conclusion of our Godzilla trilogy journey. Every thread woven into the story so far comes together here, delivering a solid ending. But it’s not without its sacrifices. The fallout from the second movie sets the emotional tone, making this finale even more intense. While it’s a complicated wrap-up, it does deliver closure. If you haven’t experienced these films yet, now’s the perfect time to binge-watch them all.

This week, we take our first steps into Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters a blend of nostalgia and fresh storytelling. While it honors the franchise’s legacy, this movie introduces a bold new narrative. The premise is that humanity flees Earth after Godzilla destroys everything and then spending 20 years wandering in space only to be forced to return due to dwindling resources, they find Earth changed in ways they could never have imagined. This is where the action truly begins.

In this episode, we dive into the anime Immoral Guild, which is an ecchi-heavy series that certainly is not afraid to push boundaries even in episode 1. The show skates close to the line between fan service and something far more... well you know, with scenes that might feel more "adults-only" than usual. Even with that, underneath all of that, it’s a pretty straightforward story without much in the way of plot progression. For fans of mature anime, Immoral Guild might be entertaining, but it’s definitely not for everyone.

One thing the show does get right is its clarity: it answers all the questions it raises, wrapping things up with a satisfying ending and mixing in humor that actually feels pretty natural. But, overall, this is one we’d only recommend to viewers who know what they’re getting into.

Next Week’s Pick: Godzilla: Planet of Monsters
