Many people think that the more emotional and unpredictable a worship service becomes the better it is. But the Bible calls us in 1 Corinthians 14 to do everything decently and in order. Order is not restrictive but protective.
And what about that part of 1 Corinthians 14 that calls for women to keep silent in the church? Let's talk about that as well!
What moves worship from good to great? It isn't the music. It isn't a better message. In 1 Corinthians 13 the Bible reveals a critical element that changes everything.
Many believe that the more emotional people become and the more unpredictable the service becomes the more spiritual a worship service is. But Paul uses two curious words to describe truly great, Spirit-filled worship in 1 Corinthians 14. The words are "decently" and "in order."
Decently means fittingly. So what fits in Spirit-filled worship? This message walks through 1 Corinthians 14:1-25.
Modern worship takes place in an auditorium that is setup for performance. As a result, people have become passive rather than being a participant in worship. How do we make the shift from passive to participant? The answers are in 1 Corinthians 12.

1 Corinthians 11:2-16 deals with a contentious issue in the Corinthian church by calling them to focus on some truths that are crystal clear. This message will help you discern and learn to minor on what is contentious and major on truths from God's Word that are crystal clear.

If every Christian were just like me, what kind of Christian would other Christians be? If others read the Bible as much or little as me? If others prayed for the same things as me? What would be the state of Christianity based on the influence of my faith?
In 1 Corinthians 11:1 Paul said to "imitate me, as I am of Christ." Could the same be said of your faith?
Biblically based, Christ-centered faith has influence. It has influence in your life and in the lives of others. But cultural Christianity has little influence. In 1 Corinthians 10 we glean some principles that help us understand the loss of the influence of our faith but also how to rekindle it.
You are burdened for your family and friends to know Christ. And you've invited them to church before but it wasn't effective. Why not?
Paul was effective in reaching the lost for Christ. 1 Corinthians 9 reveals his mentality and shows you how to win your friends and family to Christ.
