Feel My Faith

Sin will put the promises of God on the shelf. God's intentions are still good. There is no question of His love for you. But God will not bless sin. So, the promise remains, but there will be a pause until you repent.

This message is from Daniel 9 in a series entitled Learning to Pray.

Are you the kind of person who when problems arise your strategy is DON'T JUST STAND THERE, DO SOMETHING! If so, does it ease your anxiety or add to your stress? Is it an effective plan or does it cause a bigger mess?

People will stand in line for hours, even days for Cronuts, the latest iPhone, or for a student ticket to a Duke basketball game. But are you willing to prevail in prayer? Daniel 9 and 10 reveals some amazing things God does when His people prevail in prayer.

One of the reasons God may not be answering your prayers is due to unconfessed sin. In this message, we look at James 5, how we wander, and how God's people praying together can bring us back!

James 3 and 4 describe a toxic soup of relational dysfunction; not on the Jerry Springer Show, but in the church! We've all experienced it, participated in it, and been hurt by it. And this dysfunction needs to be dealt with because it is DEMONIC! Furthermore, it will CRUSH your prayer life. But God gives more grace. The Bible tells us how to handle relational tension in a way that brings about a harvest of righteousness and gets us back on track to powerful prayer.

Prayer works because God answers prayer! But what if prayer isn't working? In this message, we look at James 1:16-27. If prayer isn't working, check your obedience. Are you doing what God says? Don't separate Scripture from prayer.

When prayer isn't working the Book of James gives you some things to check. First, check your faith. James 1:2-18

Most of what you see and hear in public prayer doesn't work in private prayer. In Matthew 6 Jesus commands us to have a secret place to meet with God where we can shut out everything else and everybody else. If you're frustrated with people, say it to God in prayer and leave it there!
