Sometimes the low-level anxiety women feel in midlife isn’t coming from unprocessed emotions...it’s coming from an unmade decision.
In the last episode, we talked about how unnamed emotions can leak out sideways as irritability, tension, or reactivity. But in this episode, we’re naming something different: the anxiety that shows up when a decision stays open too long.
When a decision remains unmade, your brain keeps it running in the background. Even if you’re not consciously thinking about it, your nervous system knows something needs to be addressed. That can show up as mental clutter, trouble sleeping, tight shoulders, or a sense that you just can’t settle.
In this episode, we talk about:
• How to tell the difference between emotional anxiety and a leadership gap
• Why midlife decisions feel heavier — and why avoiding them costs more than choosing
• A simple way to recognize when you’re “trying” to decide versus avoiding commitment
• Why most decisions don’t need to be forever...they just need to be made right for right now
This conversation isn’t about rushing decisions, forcing clarity, or burning your life down. It’s about learning to trust yourself, step into emotional leadership, and give your nervous system somewhere to land.
Sometimes listening to a podcast is enough to bring relief. And sometimes you need a little more support and guidance — that’s where coaching comes in. If you're ready for coaching, reach out.
