September 02, 2018 Who Touched Me?
“Who touched me?” Jesus asked. When they all denied it, Peter said,
“Master, the people are crowding and pressing against you.” But Jesus said,
“Someone touched me; I know that power has gone out from me.”
Then the woman, seeing that she could not go unnoticed, came trembling and
fell at his feet. In the presence of all the people, she told why she had
touched him and how she had been instantly healed.
Then he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace.”
(Luke 8:40–48)
All you need is faith and Jesus. This seems like a simple message, and yet
most of us get hung up on that first little word, faith. What must we do in
order to hear “your faith has healed you. Go in peace.”? If this is a

Elijah went before the people and said, “How long will you waver between
two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow him; but if Baal is God, follow
him.” But the people said nothing. (1 Kings 18:21)
In the bible we so often we read stories about the dangers of idol worship,
but in our current culture you may find it difficult to see people bowing
down to Baals, and if you live in the Bible Belt, it’s more likely you’ll
see a church than an Ashera pole on every corner. But, does that mean that
modern-day American Christians don’t have idols? Listen to Pastor Kevin as

John 4:13+14
13 Jesus said to her, “Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty
again, 14 but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never
be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a
spring of water welling up to eternal life.”
As humans, we we go to great lengths to feel fulfilled. But even when we
are disappointed with our treasures, we are unfazed. We simply set out a
plan for the next conquest. However, in John 4, Jesus talks to a woman
