In these verses we see the call of repentance by the first angel to worship God.The second angel relates Babylon to the depths of the pouring out of sin in this world. We see the world putting its value on power, money and pleasures.Verse 13 calls for the endurance of the saints as also seen in I Corinthians 15-58. A blessing is given whereby blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on and the Spirit reiterates with they will rest from their labor, for their deeds will follow them.

The resurrection-Jesus compares the two men, one rich the other poor. Lazarus knew that there was something better. God used Lazarus's circumstances to make him a better person. Riches did not make the rich man a better person-in his mind he was self-sufficient. This story could be more than a parable, Jesus could be showing us an actual account of heaven and hell. the take home is that even if the dead are raised, people will not believe.

Paul tells us about the resurrection body, which is the likeness of Christ. He reminds us that the heart of the Gospel is the resurrection. We celebrate the resurrection every Sunday. it is spiritual in nature.--the Holy Spirit raises us to life.--Just as Christ has been risen, so will we be raised at the last day.

Though Paul addresses many issues in 1 Corinthians, one of the major ones is the resurrection. Paul tells us what the resurrection is and then asks what if there was no resurrection-

Because He lives, we live. We pass from life to life in Jesus.--The resurrection was bodily, not spiritual. He was raised by the Father in and to Glory--Look at these proofs.

Jesus lets his disciples know that it is now His time. Here in Matthew 20 is the 3rd time He tells the disciples what must happen in Jerusalem. They did not listen, we all sometimes do not hear, we are preoccupied.--May Jesus open our eyes as He did those of His disciples.

Do we have a real concern about Sin- Remember that before the fall, Adam and Eve walked with God, they led a perfect, idyllic life. The Serpent deceived Eve, and now we are removed from the presence of God, we are afraid. God has now make us alive again in Christ.

If we are to be made right, it is by Jesus alone. This is one of the most critical doctrines of the Bible and most critical to understand. There is only one name by which we can be saved. Yes God really will judge us-- Here Peter and John had no silver or gold, but gave the crippled beggar of what they had-- healing in Christ.

Jewish Christians are in need of correction for their unbelief. They are reminded how much better Jesus is than the old Jewish legal system. They need to hold fast their confession.
