If we are not careful, as Christ followers, we can allow the cultural influence of cynicism to affect the way we interact with the world around us more than the instruction of Scripture.

Our society is increasingly "Post-Christian," and there are more and more hard questions being posed to Christians. As followers of Jesus, this is not something to be fearful of, or shy away from. because these questions are ones that we have answers to. In this new series, "True & Good," we answer some of the hardest questions about Christianity. Is Christianity True? Is Christianity Good? How can a loving God allow evil? Is following Jesus even worth it? We will see that not the answers that Christianity provides does not just satisfy our curiosity, but satisfies the deepest longings of our hearts.

This week, we answer the question, "Is Christianity Good (for the world)?" We found last week that Christianity is true, but what does the truth of Christianity matter if it is not good for me, others, and the world? Logan, our YA Resident, teaches this week and argues from Scripture that Christianity is good because God is good. Christiantiy is the revelation and experience of the goodness of God. God is ultimately glorified and his goodness is magnified not just in creation, but in the redemption of sinners in the gospel of Jesus of Christ.

For something to be true, it must be historically verifiable, logically consistent, and experientially evidenced. We examine Christianity together to see that despite common objections, Christianity is in fact historically verifiable via trustworthy manuscripts and eyewitness testimony, it is internally coherent, and you can experience the life-changing effects of Christianity for yourself.

The most important event in all of history was the resurrection of Jesus. The Son of God was dead and buried but raised to new life, defeating sin and death. Yet we are often left asking ourselves, "What does the resurrection of Jesus mean for me? What does it matter?" There are several instances in Scripture in which certain individuals had personal encounters with the Risen Lord Jesus after his resurrection. These encounters with the risen Jesus changed these individuals forever. In our new series, "Seeing is Believing: Face to face with the risen Jesus," we will be looking at four particular encounters people in the Scripture had with the Lord Jesus himself post-resurrection, that we may see how a personal relationship with the risen Lord Jesus may impact our lives today.

This week, our Espanol campus pastor, Alfredo, teaches on the life of Paul. Paul had one of the most profound transformations we see in all of Scripture. Paul went from persecuting Christians to being one of history's greatest missionaries and writing the majority of the New Testament. What transformed Paul was his personal encounter with the Lord Jesus.

This week's message is about Thomas. Thomas is popularly referred to as "doubting Thomas." When we look at the story of Thomas and ask ourselves why it was that he doubted the resurrection, we can easily see what it is that causes us to doubt as well. More importantly, we see Jesus' response to our doubts and what he offers. He offers doubters his presence, his peace, and the proof of his love and power over sin.

This week, we study Peter's transformation after encountering the Lord Jesus. Peter is a character in the Bible with a fair share of both highs and lows. In this message, Brent highlights both the worst and greatest moments in Peter's life. Peter denied Jesus three times the night he was betrayed, yet in the book of Acts, Peter's monumental sermon at Pentecost is what sparked the explosion of the church. What changed between these two events? What changed the course of Peter's life after he betrayed his Lord? It wasn't Peter's own efforts, or his own self-righteousness; it was by receiving forgiveness from the Lord Jesus after his resurrection. What does this mean for us? It means that Jesus was rejected so we will never be, Jesus defeated death so we never have to live in fear of it, and Jesus offers forgiveness and restoration if we will follow Him.

We begin our series by looking at the encounter that Mary Magdalene has with the risen Jesus. Mary Magdalene is the first person in Scripture to see Jesus after his resurrection. Mary changed Jesus' life, and in this account, we see that she stays behind and mourns the death of Jesus, and yet he seeks her, comforts her, and sends her to go tell the good news of the resurrection. We see from this story that for us, like Mary, the resurrection of Jesus means that our faithfulness invites God's favor, our sadness and despair can turn into joy, our purpose can change, and we can be accepted by the Father.

This week, Brent, Kenzie, and Logan discuss God’s will. We are often faced with uncertainty and difficult decisions, and the question we all ask at some point is “what is God’s will for my life?” We often overcomplicate and fear that we will miss out or mess up God’s will for our lives. The team discusses how it is we should think about God’s will and how we can discern God’s will for our lives.
