In this episode I talk to my Music Business Management MA coursemate, Meghna Kallat, who was a Brand Manager in Sony Music Entertainment India and has years of experience in Marketing and Advertising. We discuss what music industry looks like in India, what are Meghna's personal experiences as a woman working in the business side of music, how the war, Russia invading Ukraine, and other tragic world events impact music industries and marketing as well as tackle some of the daily issues women working in music have to face and give tips on how to deal with it.

Claire shares her hands on experience being involved in organising events focused on women in music and overall ethnicity, sexuality and gender equality issues, as well as advice on where women should seek for support in fighting discrimination, unconscious bias and sexism in the industry. We discuss the ways of calling out and educating others, importance of male allies being involved in the conversation, seat at the table reports and more.
