Today I’m joined by fiery DC insider and founder of Panoptic Strategies, Gretchen Gailey. I loved this conversation!!!! Gretchen is a Cannabis Communications Strategist who works with brands and advocacy groups on promoting the myriad benefits of cannabis to a mainstream, general audience with little to no understanding of the plant, the movement, or the positive effects that embracing more progressive cannabis policy could have.
As a former journalist in DC, Gretchen has always been a champion of the truth no matter the cost. Her network is vast and she’s spent a lifetime of building trusted sources through sharing and receiving sensitive information with big implications. In 2015 she turned her focus on cannabis through leading research firm New Frontier Data, and has never looked back. She’s not a consumer, but a champion of cannabis, to this makes her uniquely positoned to have those conversations with an audience who may still be under the spell of prohibition propaganda. Despite feeling a little imposter syndrome and insecurity about being a first-time business owner, Gretchen pushed through and is now successfully making an impact in service of the people who need the plant.
Check out her work here, and don’t hesitate to reach out if your cannabis brand needs a little help from a very well connected friend.

The unstoppable and infinitely impressive cannabis trailblazer Nike John joins me today to talk about what it’s like being the youngest and first black woman-owned dispensary in Boston, her cannabis pregnancy plan, and offers truly sage advice to other high-achieving women working to accomplish big big things with no playbook (spoiler alert- start your day with a bubble bath 🤗). The mom-to-be is a shining example of how the power of hard work, a positive mental attitude, and solid modeling will lead to a WIN no matter how daunting or insurmountable the task at hand!
If you’re in the Boston area, stop what you’re doing and visit her shop The Heritage Club in Charlestown. Seriously, Go Now! You’ll find a wide variety of the highest quality flower, oils, edibles and other cannabis products by BIPOC & women-owned brands. Based on my conversation with Nike, you’ll never feel embarrassed about asking questions and will discover new products tailored to your lifestyle & cannabis journey. I can’t wait to make my trip from Texas - if you’re there, snap a pic and tag feminized, I’m dying to hear about your experience.

Today I have the distinct pleasure of sitting down with Estelle Skogstad-Kurk, events manager (aka the first lady of Farechild), to discuss her role as go-to-gal for the hottest events company in cannabis and why she believes that it’s more important than ever for women in cannabis to support each other. East Coast raised with a West Coast soul, to me Estelle represents the perfect blend of heart, hustle, authenticity & kindness that would lead to success in any industry, but I’m glad that she chose cannabis!
I watched as Estelle ran things like a BOSS IRL at the MJ Biz Farechild Shangri-la party this year and let me just tell you, she’s the real freaking deal. So much so that she came all the way from Seattle to Austin a month later to help my team throw the Taste of Texas Hemp Cup and was INVALUABLE. Events are hard, but she makes them look easy, so you’ll be happy to hear that she is launching her own events company, ESK, in 2023 if you need help too :)

KushKards founder Lauren Miele began making the first Kushkards by rolling blunts and sewing them to paper in the form of initials, numbers, and ornaments to spell out festive greetings. On Christmas 2013, the first ever Kushkard was born and the journey of cannabis-themed greeting cards began!
Lauren is a smart tenacious hustler from New York and when she saw an opportunity to bring together 2 of her favorite things, she wouldn’t let anyone stop her from realizing her vision to be the Hallmark of Canna-cards. I’m excited to share this conversation about grinding for what you believe in. Lauren is like the bestie you’ve always wanted and you’ll become just as obsessed as I am with her down-to-earth yet totally extra approach to following her dreams.
