We return on Episode 13 to discuss the recent controversy surrounding RuPaul's Emmy acceptance speech and the issue of diversity, or lack thereof, in Hollywood.

We then broaden the conversation to discuss issues surrounding gender and drag and call into question whether Rupaul is gatekeeping what drag is and who should participate.

We then move on to discuss Greta Thurnberg and the recent beef she had with the UN in relation to the impeding apocalypse before closing the episode with some light chat surrounding astrology and the degree to which it informs the way in which we navigate the world.

In Episode 12, we shift the tone of the podcast and address the pressing situation in Sudan during our usual Deconstruct the Look segment, providing insight in to the situation as well as offering up avenues to help out. We decided to wear blue and change the backdrop of the logo to act as a visual reminder of what is happening and express solidarity with the Sudanese people.

We then move on to discuss dystopian window into post-Brexit Britain: ‘Years and Years’ for Matthew’s contribution to What’s Popping before tangenting on to Black Mirror in typical FFN style before Sekai chimes in with her two cents on the ending of Game of Thrones.

We introduce new segment: ‘We are not heterophobic, but…”, a segment in which we discuss heterosexuals and their contribution to the impeding apocalypse before comparing star signs to shoes in our Reading the Signs segment. Moving forward, we are looking to get guests on the podcast to add further dimensions and perspectives to the discussion. A few months ago we were asked to be involved in the BBC Listening Project.

The Listening Project is a partnership between BBC Radio 4, BBC local and

national radio stations, and the British Library. The Listening Project

aims to ‘capture the nation in conversation’

Since 2012 they have been collecting intimate conversations between friends

or relatives, to build a unique picture of our lives today. They have

collected over a thousand so far, and most will be broadcast across BBC

radio, while all are archived by the British Library, preserving them for

future generations.

In Episode 10, we discuss gentrification in Dundee with the recent attacks on The Reading Rooms with the authorities, threatening to shut it down.

Rooms has been a longstanding institution for Underground music in Dundee, for 17 years they have provided an alternative space for Dundee’s club scene.

We also discuss the monarchy for some reason and how they keep themselves in power. Repeatedly confusing William and Harry because who cares really.

We talk about the Women of The World Festival in Perth which will be happening on the 29th of September, The Flint Water Crisis, The dreaded Brexit and the wonderful Serena Williams. We also take down those well-balanced and endlessly nice Libras.. it was tough.
