I am delighted to bring a conversation with a relative newcomer. Flyguy joined the community here in Melbourne only a few years ago, with the last two years spent mostly in lockdown. In spite of these difficulties, he managed to make big strides towards finding a community, developing his style and creating and maintaining an amazing relationship with his submissive, whom we’ll meet in a later episode. This episode proves that we are all exceptional individuals, doing the best we can in imperfect times and helping each other learn and grow.

This is the fifth solo episode of season two in which I reflect on social consequences of personal development. I started thinking about this topic after the conversation with Schism (previous episode). He pointed out that defining oneself too quickly (or too narrowly) can be detrimental to development. As usual, this isn’t intended to put you off self-discovery. On the contrary, I am all for self-reflection and growth. In what follows I will offer some additional ways of looking at it that might help in your progress.
