On this episode, David and Maghalie share the behind the scenes of their arrival to Europe, and their setup for the next 3 months. They also talk about what their goals were heading into the first race weekend with the Superprestige in Niel and the World Cup in Dendermonde.

With all the mud, David washed bikes more times in a race (12x) than Maghalie did in the whole year...so Maghalie and David share how the races were from both their perspectives.

Finally, Maghalie talks about a fun invitation she received for this coming week!

This week, we have a special episode. We wrapped up the USCX series at the Really Rad weekend of cyclocross and we talk about that a little bit. But mostly, this episode is a tribute to our good friend Michael van den Ham. Mike is soon retiring from his pro cyclocross racer career to transition into the Canadian National team coach role. In this episode, we go back in time in Mike's career.

How did a young boy from Manitoba become a pro cross racer? Mike shares the two big risks he took to go all in into a cross career. What are the biggest lessons he's learned and the best memories he created? What are his goals for the future of Canadian cyclocross? We talk about all that and way more.

Before the race, Maghalie was on the edge of letting her nerves take over, but was able to switch her mindset right in time and went on to do a great performance in the World Cup. Maryland has one of the biggest cyclocross scenes in the US, and this weekend we got to meet all the families and kids who love cyclocross. We also have a really fun interview with the one and only Bill Schieken about his media work for cyclocross, as well as the CXD development cyclocross team he created. Finally, we discuss about the tactical racing of the Charm City course, share our highlights of the weekend, and answer your questions.

The Muddy Mondays are BACK!

On this episode, David and Maghalie talk about the beginning of the cyclocross season. They explain their new mindset/strategy of simplicity and talk about their new setup for the races. Plus, we discuss the two first weekends of racing which happened in Roanoke and Rochester, including inside comments from an epic battle in the mud on Sunday in Rochester.

We recorded this final episode of our Bikepacking to World Championships series at the Edinburgh Castle! We recap Day 3 and 4 of riding in Scotland, which had us fall in love with the country.

We visit a Wisky and Gin distillery, taste the famous Haggis, and enjoy one of the most beautiful ride of our lives. We discuss if gravel or MTB was ideal for this route? How we fuelled during the trip, and our best moments and highlights of the adventure.

We also discuss the ins and outs of the route: was the adventure to speed ratio good enough? Would we do anything differently? What did we learn throughout the trip?

These 4 days of riding were my highlight of the YEAR so far. We hope you enjoy the conversation and that it makes you dream of your next adventure.

Day 2 was spent in North Ireland. We climbed through the Mourne Mountains and got to see the green Irish hills in the sunlight. WOW. We also discuss with first time bikepackers Franz and Caitlin, about what they think of their first experience. Is bikepacking for everyone? We also talk with some locals about the culture of tea VS coffee in Ireland, and taste Haggis and Toffee Sticky Pudding.

Maghalie is racing the Marathon MTB and the E-MTB World Championships in Scotland. But, to make the most of the trip, her and her husband David (and their two friends Caitlin and Franz) are riding to the race. Their bike packing journey will take them from Dublin in Ireland, to Edinburgh in Scotland over 500km of Irish & Scottish road and trails, before racing her two events.

Day 1 from Dublin to Newry exceeded expectations! After landing from an overnight flight, and a few technical hiccups, the crew was off to ride! Windy narrow roads, pastries, beach riding, rain storms, rainbows, green hills, and more rain... it was an excellent day of riding bikes! reminding us that in bikepacking the journey is the gift!
