  • Genevieve Jeanson has fallen in love with cycling all over again

Genevieve's story is a story of hope!

At 16 years old, Genevieve Jeanson was a great cyclist with big dreams. Unfortunately, at that young age, she was pulled into a situation that transformed her life. Doping, abuse, and violence became her reality. She won many races, but eventually, she felt like she was living in a nightmare that she needed to escape, and failing a doping test was, in her own words, "the best thing that could have happened to her" at that time.

15 years later, Genevieve is a strong and inspiring woman. She has overcome obstacles most of us could never imagine living. Genevieve is back riding and racing her bike, tackling gravel events and big adventures, and she's never been happier.

In this episode, Genevieve opens up about how she dealt with the hard experiences of her life, how she bounced back, and how she found her love for cycling all over again. Genevieve is now dedicated to sharing her story She also in order to help other young athletes that may face similar challenges.

  • Emotions of Racing - Confidence with Zoe Backstedt

Zoe Backstedt is a 5x World Champion, at only 18 years old. Zoe exudes confidence, but on and off the race course. She is able to make her way through the chaotic starts of cyclocross race with what seems like ease. She has the confidence to rub elbows with some athletes she looked up as heroes to just a few years ago, and she does it with grace. Yet, she remains incredibly humble through it all. On this conversation, we discuss confidence and aggressivity with Zoe. How does one build confidence? Is this something you can train? Does even the most confident of us experience ebbs and flows in confidence? And, can there be such thing as too much confidence? We talk about all that and way more...

Clara Honsinger is a 3x USA cyclocross National Champion, and she has stood on the podium of several CX World Cups. In my opinion, Clara is the epitome of being a calm and composed racer; we often see her calmly and steadily make her way through the field to claim a podium spot in the biggest races. In this conversation, Maghalie and Clara discuss the balance between calm and excitement. How does Clara find calm through the chaos and pressure of racing? Can there be something as being too calm? If so, how does she get herself excited? We discuss all that and way more.

    _______

This episode is on Focus. Focus is represented by green on the kit…

To deconstruct the emotion of "focus", we discuss with professional Enduro racer and former Downhill World Champion Miranda Miller. Miranda LOVES speed. It is what makes her feel alive. At the speeds at which she rides her bike down mountains, she has to be extremely focused...but how? And, it's one thing to be focused, but focusing on the RIGHT thing at the RIGHT moment is another ask...so what does she focus on? Can we train our ability to focus?

We’ll dig into all that, and way more with Miranda Miller.
