Eve Parker Finley is a noted Montreal multi-instrumentalist and upcoming Indie Pop Superstar. Braiding a dense and deliberate web of string arrangements and classical naturalism into a former raver’s penchant for programmed beats and four on the floor grooves, Finley has been a mainstay in the Montreal independent scene for nearly a decade. Her debut album, Chrysalia, releases Dec 4th with Florafone Records and Coax Records.

Wave Debris

by Diana Duta & Julia E. Dyck

https://crashsymbols.bandcamp.com/album/wave-debris

Diana Duta and Julia E. Dyck's Wave Debris takes the work of scientist Elizabeth Alexander as its starting point, in particular her research into the radio frequencies emitted during sunset. Working mostly with modulated versions of those frequencies, they worked in their own field recordings, feedback, and readings from Ron Silliman’s Sunset Debris. The result feels especially cryptic and otherworldly, full of smoke and dissolving images.

The live version was performed at sunset during Rocks Radio Radar Long Wave Radiation, organized by Cristina Ramos as part of her residency at The Watch Berlin. Housed in a former GDR watchtower, half the transmission was streamed from Brussels while the other was performed on location one floor below the audience. The performance attempts to illuminate phenomena that are present but not perceived, that mediate, dissolve, or disclose.

A collection of audio vignettes made by Desert Bloom.

This undulating sound piece comes as a welcome release, facilitating a sense of calm as we're once again in a moment where we're being asked to slow down and take space.

Lucia Stephen aka DJ Almond Breeze is a recent transplant to Montreal, hailing from the shores of Halifax, Nova Scotia. Her primary work supports the growth, success and vibrancy of small-scale organic farmers and local food systems. Also a lifelong music-lover, she is forever indebted to the innumerable Black artists that have created work that has changed her life, and so many others, for the better. Alongside supporting Black artists (as one source, check out Blackbandcamp.info), due to the recent events and ongoing turmoil in Lebanon, as a Lebanese-Canadian, she encourages listeners to visit https://helplebanon.carrd.co/

Onnie is a live audio engineer and music producer. Somewhat fresh to DIY rave and dance scenes, 2019 was a crash course in honing her craft and building connections in Montreal's vast ecosystem of artistic talent. This mix is an attempt of providing for others the sense of "elation" that she herself craves from dance music.
