Precept upon precept, line by line reading. Week 20 Torah Portion - Tetsaveh (You Shall Command) Exodus 27:20-30:10. Translation: את Cepher

Yahuah tells Moses to receive from the children of Israel pure olive oil to feed the “everlasting flame” of the menorah, which Aaron is to kindle each day, “from evening till morning.” we explore how The Olive in the olive tree has always been a symbol of the whole house of Israel and how the pounded oil represents the process of our purification through adversity, trial and tribulation that better prepares us to shine and illuminate Yah’s word.

The priestly garments, to be worn by the kohanim (priests) while serving in the Sanctuary, are described. All kohanim wore: 1) the ketonet—a full-length linen tunic; 2) michnasayim—linen breeches; 3) mitznefet or migba’at—a linen turban; 4) avnet—a long sash wound above the waist.

In addition, the kohen gadol (high priest) wore: 5) the efod—an apron-like garment made of blue-, purple- and red-dyed wool, linen and gold thread; 6) the choshen—a breastplate containing twelve precious stones inscribed with the names of the twelve tribes of Israel; 7) the me’il—a cloak of blue wool, with gold bells and decorative pomegranates on its hem; 8) the tzitz—a golden plate worn on the forehead, bearing the inscription “Holy to YHVH”

We elaborate on the powerful symbolism and parallels between the high Priestly garments and the armor of יהוה as well as the parallels between Messiah Yahusha as our high priest and the beautiful thought that he bears the names of the children of Israel in the breastplate of judgement upon his heart has a memorial before the father forever (Ex. 28:29)!

Tetsaveh also includes Yahuah’s detailed instructions for the seven-day initiation of Aaron and his four sons—Nadav, Avihu, Elazar and Itamar—into the priesthood, and for the making of the golden altar, on which the ketoret (incense) was burned.

Happy prep day and Shalom beloved brethren! Let's enter this prep day in thanksgiving and gratefulness to Yahuah! Let's sing praises while we prepare our hearts and houses for the Sabbath day of rest! 

Yahuah, we praise you for you are Qodesh, your ways high above all, and you are worthy! Father, you search our hearts, you search our thoughts, and you know us better than we know ourselves. Though knowledge increases we pray that we stay humble and boast only in your hands moving us and providing the understanding. You are mighty to perform miracles and we lift all esteem to you for we do nothing without you! Father, speak to us through your scripture and let us cling to every word that comes from your mouth. Your Torah is sweetness to our lives! Sweeter than honeycomb and nourishment for our bones. You loved us so much you sent Yahusha, your Yachid, and our Salvation. Blessed be the names Yahuah and Yahusha! Blessed be the Ruach Ha'Qodesh whom you sent to us while we wait for the return of Yahusha. We are weary, but we are strengthened by your word. We lean into you Father for blessed assurance to fortify our countenance. You are enough! We lift the body of Yahusha to you. We lift our members who are sick and dying, those who are mourning and who are losing loved ones as we speak, we lift those injured, and those who are recovering from various ailments, surgeries, and illnesses, we lift all the little ones who are sick with flu or any illnesses, we lift those in war torn regions, we bow humbly before your throne with all of these petitions in our hands and ask for your will to be done and for your comfort to be poured on all. Shower your people with your love and Shalom. In perpetual praise we pray for these things in your name, Yahuah, in your sons name, Yahusha, and in the Ruach Ha'Qodesh, let it be so, and let your Kingdom come, Amein!

The Book of Wisdom, or the Wisdom of Solomon, is generally dated to the mid-first century BC. The central theme of the work is "wisdom" itself, appearing under two principal aspects. The first aspect is, in its relation to humankind, wisdom is the perfection of knowledge of the righteous as a gift from YHVH showing itself in action. The second aspect is, in direct relation to YHVH, wisdom is with Yahuah from all eternity. It is one of the seven sapiential or wisdom books in the Septuagint, the others being Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Song of Songs (Song of Solomon), Job, and Sirach. It is one of the deuterocanonical books, i.e. part of the Apocrypha.

Father, we lift all needs of the body of Yahusha before you! You know everything about us and we trust you are making a way for each need. We lift those struggling with illness and health issues, we lift those mourning, those with finance issues, house and car issues, those with needs for food and clothing, Father, hear the cries of those in war torn regions, make a clear path for the innocent. Father, we are weary of the evil and wickedness that is everywhere, please, hear our cries and deliver us from the darkness on all sides. We love you and want only to worship you with all that we are and all that we have. You are our reward, being in your presence is our heart cry. We long to be in your house with you, forever. We lift these prayers to you in your name, Yahuah, and in the name of the Risen Son, Yahusha, and the Ruach Ha'Qodesh, Amein!

(2.13.24)

The people of Israel are called upon to contribute fifteen materials—gold, silver and copper; blue-, purple– and red-dyed wool; flax, goat hair, animal skins, wood, olive oil, spices and gems—out of which, Yahuah says to Moses, “They shall make for Me a Sanctuary, and I shall dwell amidst them.”

On the summit of Mount Sinai, Moses is given detailed instructions on how to construct this dwelling for YHVH so that it could be readily dismantled, transported and reassembled as the people journeyed in the desert.

In the Sanctuary’s inner chamber, behind an artistically woven curtain, was the ark containing the tablets of testimony engraved with the Ten Commandments; on the ark’s cover stood two winged cherubim hammered out of pure gold. In the outer chamber stood the seven-branched menorah, and the table upon which the “showbread” was arranged.

The Sanctuary’s three walls were fitted together from 48 upright wooden boards, each of which was overlaid with gold and held up by a pair of silver foundation sockets. The roof was formed of three layers of coverings: (a) tapestries of multicolored wool and linen; (b) a covering made of goat hair; (c) a covering of ram and tachash skins. Across the front of the Sanctuary was an embroidered screen held up by five posts.

Surrounding the Sanctuary and the copper-plated altar which fronted it was an enclosure of linen hangings, supported by 60 wooden posts with silver hooks and trimmings, and reinforced by copper stakes.

The whole layout in this portion taking us from the starting with the ark in the Most Holy Place to the Outer Court with the Alter of Sacrifice and the Gateway (The Way) and back to Most Holy Place all symbolize different elements of the Messiah and reveals Yahuah’s plan of Salvation from the beginning…

You chasten us when we stray because you love us. You make a way in the wilderness of our minds and take our broken pieces and make a work of art with our lives! You weave us together in the tapestry of your creation. Worthy are you Yahuah, Yahusha, and the Ruach Ha'Qodesh of all our praise! HalleluYah for the Ruach Ha'Qodesh that teaches us, advocates for us and comforts us while we wait ! Things here are bad Yahuah, we know you know. Father, give us strength to endure, stoke the fires in our souls and engage our brains to seek your understanding then reveal your wisdom to us. Father, guide us, direct us, shape us in your will and way. Yahuah, we lift each other to you and ask for your hands to be upon us. You know what each are facing and we submit our will to be your will. Yahusha, be the change in us. Fill us with your living water to the top, with new wine, and make a new creature of us that changes us forever so we abhor what is evil, wicked, and sinful and that we choose obedience to you!
