The Book of Wisdom, or the Wisdom of Solomon, is generally dated to the mid-first century BC. The central theme of the work is "wisdom" itself, appearing under two principal aspects. The first aspect is, in its relation to humankind, wisdom is the perfection of knowledge of the righteous as a gift from YHVH showing itself in action. The second aspect is, in direct relation to YHVH, wisdom is with Yahuah from all eternity. It is one of the seven sapiential or wisdom books in the Septuagint, the others being Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Song of Songs (Song of Solomon), Job, and Sirach. It is one of the deuterocanonical books, i.e. part of the Apocrypha.

(2.6.24)

Following the revelation at Sinai, Yahuah legislates a series of laws for the people of Israel. These include the laws of the indentured servant; the penalties for murder, kidnapping, assault and theft; civil laws pertaining to redress of damages, the granting of loans and the responsibilities of the “Four Guardians”; and the rules governing the conduct of justice by courts of law.

Also included are laws warning against mistreatment of foreigners; the observance of the seasonal festivals, and the agricultural gifts that are to be brought to the Holy Temple in Jerusalem; the prohibition against cooking meat with milk; and the mitzvah of prayer. Altogether, the Parshah of Mishpatim contains 53 mitzvot—23 imperative commandments and 30 prohibitions.

YHVH promises to bring the people of Israel to the Holy Land, and warns them against assuming the pagan ways of its current inhabitants.

The people of Israel proclaim, “We will do and we will hear all that God commands us.” Leaving Aaron and Hur in charge in the Israelite camp, Moses ascends Mount Sinai and remains there for forty days and forty nights to receive the Torah from יהוה.

We praise and worship you, Yahuah, for you are enough! You, are mighty to save and your mercies are new every morning as you wake us at your will and delight. Father, you are long suffering with us as we stumble, stray, and fall while we walk towards your Kingdom. Father, help us help one another. Guide us to be kind and loving yet bold and uncompromising in our faith. Direct our path in your righteousness and put your words in our mouths that we might speak with your conviction. Holy are you and higher are your ways Yahuah. We long to kneel at the feet of Yahusha to see him coming in terrific power and strength ! This world is wicked beyond measure, Father, help us stand against the darkness by sending Yahusha to light it up once again! Father we lift each other before your throne for healing and asking humbly that you work in each need and situation of the body of Yahusha. Give us strength to endure and help us reach many who are lost while we wait for the return of Yahusha! Hear our worship of you Yahuah and our cries for help. Remember us and move us through this wilderness to the promised land. In your name Yahuah and in the name of Yahusha your Yachid and the Ruach Ha'Qodesh we pray, let it be so, and let your Kingdom come! Amein!

Yahuah, we worship and sing praises to you! Holy, Holy, Holy! Blessed are you Yahuah, Yahusha, and the Ruach Ha'Qodesh! I thank you Yahuah on my knees with my hands raised. If I have nothing else but you then I have everything I need. Though this body may fall ill or be wracked in pain I will worship you. I will not let the wickedness of this world discourage me on this walk but I will keep my eyes on you! We are not worthy on our own but through the salvation of Yahusha Ha'Mashiach we are made worthy! Praise the risen Son that shines on all the earth! Father, hear our cries and prayers to you but also hear our worship and praise to you! Father, guide us and direct us each day in your will and in your ways. Blessings and Shalom family! 

I pray Yahuah shine his face upon you today and lift up your countenance! Seek Yahuah with all your heart, mind, and soul! Seek the Kingdom of Yahuah! Hand over your burdens and raise your hands in praise to Yahuah! As the sun rises today, let's praise our risen Savior the Son of Elohiym ! The Son shines his light on all at all times!

Join James at 1 pm est for this week's Torah portion reading, Yithro/Jethro. 

Moses’ father-in-law, Yithro, also pronounced Jethro in English, hears of the great miracles which Yahuah performed for the people of Israel, and comes from Midian to the Israelite camp, bringing with him Moses’ wife and two sons. Jethro advises Moses to appoint a hierarchy of magistrates and judges to assist him in the task of governing and administering justice to the people.

The children of Israel camp opposite Mount Sinai, where they are told that Yahuah has chosen them to be His “kingdom of priests” and “holy nation.” The people respond by proclaiming, “All that YHVH has spoken, we shall do.”

On the sixth day of the third month (Sivan), seven weeks after the Exodus, the entire nation of Israel assembles at the foot of Mount Sinai. Yahuah descends on the mountain amidst thunder, lightning, billows of smoke and the blast of the shofar, and summons Moses to ascend.

Yahuah proclaims the Ten Commandments, commanding the people of Israel to believe in יהוה, not to worship idols or take YHVH name in vain, to keep the Shabbat, honor their parents, not to murder, not to commit adultery, not to steal, and not to bear false witness or covet another’s property. The people cry out to Moses that the revelation is too intense for them to bear, begging him to receive the Torah from Yahuah and convey it to them.
