Welcome to a new episode of Fans First Football Network’s I-80 Football Show. On this show, we travel down I-80 to talk all things Big Ten Football. This is the only Big Ten Podcast that’ll cover all 18 teams. After every week of action, we will catch you up on all the conference’s games and look ahead at the matchups, storylines, and players you should be paying attention to for the next week. My name is Jordan Williams, and I am joined by my co-host Dante Morgan.
College Football is here! After a lengthy off-season, we finally have real-deal football to talk about. Dante and Jordan get into Brian Kelly’s coaching malpractice forcing Harold Perkins to play inside linebacker instead of letting him rush the passer after becoming a star rushing the passer in 2022. That decision alone may not have lost LSU the game but it didn’t help.
Michigan, Ohio State, and Penn State are all college football playoff contenders this season but none of them looked great in week one. Michigan and Penn State had issues running the ball averaging under 4.5 yards per carry against lesser quality opponents. Ohio State had issues with Ryan Day's playcalling and new quarterback Kyle McCord had problems connecting with star wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. It’s too early to make definitive statements about their seasons but all three teams need a better showing in week two.
In their weekly pitstops, Jordan talks about Deion Sanders’ awkward boasting. It’s the same Deion but in uncle form. Dante thinks NBA 2K fumbled an easy bag with the Kobe experience in NBA 2K24.
