And here is Lester talking about where he learned the tune from, a banjo player named Jenes Cottrell. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ay2TR-9xJm I)

Kim notes that “as far as I know Lester was the first of the fiddle players to pick up the tune. He and his wife sang quite a few verses to it.”

Nothing on DLA, Slippery-Hill, or Fiddler's Companion.

Played in G. Fiddle tuned Gdgd. I learned this from another recording from the Lonesome Stragglers CD Susquehanna Waltz.

I'm pretty sure Ernie Carpenter is the source for this version.

There are several tunes that go by the name Cabin Creek. And some of those other versions go by other names. Fiddler's Companion is not much help on the version I learned.
