Our guest is Aaron Brown, a seasoned audio professional specializing in game audio, music composition, and field recording. Aaron has worked with industry giants like Electronic Arts, Lucasarts and Naughty Dog, contributing to award-winning games such as Call of Duty Vanguard and Uncharted 3. Currently based in Austin, TX, Aaron is an active supporter of the local game audio community and continues to explore new opportunities in the field.
Joining Aaron is Mac Owens, a talented sound designer with a diverse audio background. Mac graduated from Full Sail University with a degree in Recording Arts and has worked on various projects, including game sound and educational audio. Since moving to Austin in 2022, Mac has worked with Arkane Studios on the game Redfall, focusing on sound design, foley, implementation, and mixing. He also founded Clean Wavs for his linear sound work.
Recently, Aaron and Mac documented a detailed session capturing gun sounds, offering valuable insights into preparation, recording techniques, and DAW session management in Reaper, aimed at helping other field recordists succeed.
