Matthew 6:10-Last week we examined the paternity of prayer, or rather, the Father to Whom we pray. Today we look closely at the prayer priority of a Kingdom citizen.

Matthew 6:9-Knowing to WHOM you pray WILL and SHOULD impact how you approach prayer and the ONE to WHOM you pray.

Matthew 6:5-8-Oswald Chambers, in his excellent book, Prayer: A Holy Occupation, writes: “The job of every Christian is to pray.” Yet, for too many of us, our experience in prayer is weak, inept, difficult, and often viewed as a laborious chore. In the text this morning, the Master teaches on prayer.

Matthew 6:1-4- The Gospel of Jesus Christ has implications for EVERY area of our lives. There is no component of your life which is off-limits to Him. As we now wade into chapter 6, Jesus speaks to the subject of money and giving. He speaks of heart giving.

Matthew 5:43-48- What comes to your mind when you think of the words “friend” and “foe”? The text we consider this morning hits us hard regarding the relationships of our lives—be it friend or foe.

Matthew 5:38-42- The title for today’s message, while odd and unorthodox, is actually quite appropriate for this text.

Matthew 5:33-37- Is your word your bond? Do you perceive yourself as truthful and trustworthy? In the text for this morning, Jesus comments on the issue of oaths.

Matthew 5:27-30- In the verses we consider this morning, Jesus continues to unmask the self-righteous externalism of the Scribes and Pharisees. Jesus pulls no punches. He speaks plainly. He speaks truthfully.

Matthew 5:31-32- This statement is one of six statements Jesus made in which He introduces the subject by the formula, “You have heard it said...but I tell you.”

Matthew 5:21-26-Anger is a real and present danger in our lives. By way of background, in Exodus 20:13, the Bible says, “You shall not commit murder.” Again, Jesus turns the attention to the heart (the internal), and not simply to the external action.
