Ephesians 5:15-21- The most essential of all earthly institutions is the FAMILY. According to Sacred Scripture, God divinely established the family as the basic building block of society. Yet, it is obvious in our contemporary day that secularism has set the family in its crosshairs. War has been declared on the family. Many families are wracked with turmoil, chaos, fighting, and heartache. What, then, is God’s key to family harmony?

John 20:1-20-The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the single most important event in human history! This morning we consider two key realities regarding the resurrection of the Savior

John 19:38-42- “’It is finished!’ Then He bowed His head and gave up His spirit.” And, with these decisive words, Jesus died. The world was forever changed, never to be the same. Jesus was crucified. Dead. Now we read of His burial. This seemed to His followers the proverbial “nail in the coffin.”

John 19:17-30- After numerous attempts to set Jesus free, Pilate opts for political expedience and delivers Jesus into the hands of the Jews to be crucified.

John 18:28-40- In this morning’s text, we find our Lord standing before Pilate, the Roman governor of Judea. He raises a key question in this scene: “What is truth?”

John 18:15-27-The last 24 hours of the Lord’s life were gut-wrenching. He endured a lifetime of agony and heartache in those few hours. It’s difficult to process what the Lord experienced. This morning we consider one of the bitterest moments of His final hours—the night He was betrayed.

John 18:1-14-Can you believe what you just read? Arresting Jesus. Preposterous. Outrageous. Absurd. Ludicrous. Outlandish. While the other Gospel writers give attention to the agony of Christ in Gethsemane, John focuses on the arrest of Jesus.

John 17:20-26-Who prays for you? How often do we say to one another, “Hey, I’m praying for you,” but then we forget? We get busy. We get distracted. The moment escapes us and we are on to some other urgent demand on our time and attention. In this morning’s sermon text, Jesus prays for US. It’s genuinely remarkable.

John 17:6-19- There can be no doubt that Jesus prayed. Clearly, it was a consistent discipline of His extraordinary life. In John 17 we have the longest recorded prayer of Jesus in Scripture. In the opening verses of chapter 17, Jesus prays for Himself; in this passage, Jesus prays for His followers, more specifically, His disciples.

John 16:16-33-At this crucial point in John’s Gospel, Jesus is less than twenty-four hours away from His death. Think about that reality. Suppose you knew the approximate timing and route of your death, how would that knowledge direct and inform your conversations with those closest to you? What we are about to read is perhaps one of the most intimate, revealing conversations Christ had with His disciples.
