In this video, we conclude Jesus’ perception of the church in Smyrna and note the sad situation of today’s church, which views itself from the world’s perspective and, indeed, anyone’s but God’s. This condition must be reversed—the church must return to God and be content with God’s view of it.
There is a view that motivates one to conduct oneself in a certain way. Regarding the church of God, our motivation for conducting ourselves is based on God’s perception of who we are.
In His introduction to assessing the church in Smyrna, Jesus observed that it was poor by earthly measures but rich in His view. Therefore, although the church in Smyrna appeared impoverished by human standards, from God’s viewpoint, it was rich. This prompts the question, “How should the church perceive itself? Should it gauge itself by worldly standards or God’s standards?”

This video clip enables us to understand what is at stake in the gospel from the perspective of eschatology—the study of the Last Days.
