Below is the transcript:
While meditating on God's word today, the following came to mind regarding the Christian and how he should apply himself in the marketplace:
In Ecclesiastes Chapter 9, verse 10, it is written,
"Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do with your might;"
It is also written in Deuteronomy Chapter 6 verse 5,
"And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, with all thy soul, and with all thy might."
These verses of Scripture when combined, indicate that whatsoever we do, we must do as unto the Lord, just as it is written in Colossians Chapter 3, verse 23,
"And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;"
Thus, though we work for people, it is God we serve. And so, we work or serve heartily, or as the Amplified Bible puts it, "from the soul", being aware that we are serving God, not men.
Though Joseph was a slave in Potiphar's house, he served with diligence as unto the Lord, and he excelled as it is written in Genesis chapter 39, verses 2 and 3,
"And the Lord was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian. And his master saw that the Lord was with him, and that the Lord made all that he did to prosper in his hand."
If indeed you have been born again, are sanctified and being continually sanctified, then, the Lord is with you and will ensure that all that you do will prosper insofar as they line up with His will and purpose, and done as unto Him. Therefore, work without complaining or murmuring; rather,
work joyfully, knowing that God is whom you are working for, even when your human employer is oppressive and oppressing you. It is written in 1 Peter Chapter 2, verses 18 and 19,
"Servants, be subject to your masters with all fear; not only to the good and gentle, but also to the froward. For this is thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully."
I pray that the Lord will set these few words in your heart and give you understanding, in Jesus' name, Amen.
