We discuss the third of the symbolisms of Revelations 1—the One in the midst of the candlesticks. This is clearly, the Lord Jesus Christ, as John saw. What does this mean for what the church ought to be?
We now turn our attention to the symbol of the star in the right hand of Christ as it relates to what the church of God ought to be.
In looking at the state of the church of God today, in the light of Revelation chapters 2 and 3, we begin by looking at what the church ought to be, to enable us to see where we are, before evaluating the Lord’s assessment of whether we are healthy.
Thus, when John, the Elder, saw the Lord, in a vision or trance, on the Island of Patmos, he saw Him standing amid seven golden lampstands, holding seven stars in His right hand. This introductory clip discusses the symbolism of the golden lampstand as it relates to the church of God.
In this conclusion, we summarise and review Jesus’ assessment of the churches in Revelation Chapters 2 and 3.
No matter how leafy a tree is, we all desire fruit thereon. Such was Jesus’ disposition when He approached the fig tree in Mark 11:12-14. It is, more importantly, His desire whenever He comes to see His people. And so, what are leaves and what qualifies as fruit?
