Imagine finally getting the strength to wear a tapered cut with confidence and being told by another woman that the hairstyle doesn’t look good on you. Not because it doesn’t look good on you, but because she can’t imagine feeling confident wearing the same hairstyle on her head. Imagine the woman saying those things looks just like you. In interlude 5.0 , I discuss the duality of featurism and colorism across black women . First Love Letter I wrote to myself in 2022.
Last but definitely not least, let's talk about Love. Not much of an introduction needed for this segment. Now I like to refer to M.O.M as this big love letter, because that’s what it is. So here to unpack all things love with us today is my good friend Etsy Roe.
This segment is based on chapters 2 & 4 the Book of Liberation and Book of Humanity in Memoirs of Mangie (M.O.M). These chapters explore the journey of the self.
