Wes and Alex go through the good, the bad, and the weird of soccer news. Then they preview the US Men's World Cup Qualifiers this weekend. Minnesota played Houston last weekend, so they'll try to give it its due and probably fail at that task, but looking ahead there are some opportunities to get revenge on Atlanta and Kansas City.

Wes is joined by outgoing president of the Dark Clouds, Jim Oliver. They talk about building and growing supporters culture in Minnesota. They also talk about the thorough beating Minnesota put on Dallas. Jim, a lover of metal, talk about which metal bands can be paired with particular players. So it's that kind of show.

Wes is joined by Rodrigo Sanchez-Chavarria and Alex Schiefferdecker to talk about the NASL's lawsuit against US Soccer, to not talk about Minnesota versus Vancouver, and then to beatify Danladi's game-winner against Montreal. Wes and Alex are joined by Tap-in Guide's Curt Baker, who created the brand new soccer app. They all talk about the Minnesota United draw against Philadelphia Union, how dumb VAR is, and whether there are any U-13 Loons who play on the left. Almost five years after he watched his first professional soccer match, Dr. Bill McGuire is finishing his first season as managing partner of Minnesota United FC in MLS. Dr. McGuire joins Wes in the studio to talk about that time. He reflects back on the decisions that led them to MLS and assesses the team's debut in the top league.

Minnesota United got their first road win in MLS (and their first as a team in 503 days), so we're going to celebrate that. Not before Wes gets angry about the team's inability to not just, you know, pass the ball directly at the opposition.

After a 4-0 drubbing of DC United, Minnesota turns around and gets a thorough spanking from Seattle. It's like that crappy Kevin Spacey movie, Pay It Forward. Alex joins Wes a the two of them lament the team's inability to keep a basic defensive shape. They sigh deeply and talk about other things.

Back in October, Sport Illustrated's Grant Wahl made an offhand prediction that Minnesota United would not get more than 5 wins in 2017.
