  • #09 - Cristiana Theodoli
    Hello!
Part two of my trip north of the border saw me travelling to Glasgow to meet the wonderful Cristiana Theodoli!
Cristiana is a blue belt who trains out of MNBJJ in Glasgow, We've been speaking online for a while now, and kept missing eachother at competitions and training camps, so it was wholly awesome to finally meet this wonderful woman!
We got to speaking about getting youths into the sport, the NHS, the BJJ Globetrotters, and all kinds of shenanigans!
There's even a couple of guest appearances from the Raspberry Ape himself, Dan Strauss, and the lovely Giles Garcia too, if you listen close! Well...maybe not that close, as you will no doubt hear Giles cooking up a storm the further into the podcast you get!
Anyway! I really hope you enjoy our conversation!
Again, as I mentioned in the previous podcast, the Fight Like a Girl 2 Competition prep is currently underway, So, please remember not to forget to sign up for it, it will be held at the Chamberlain Sports Sports Centre, in Birmingham, on October 14th!
    Sign up here:
    www.fightlikeagirl.one
As per my last post, participation is women only, but men are allowed in the venue to spectate and coach, also, there is no spectators fee :)
The T-Shirt and poster designs have now been released, and I may release another T-Shirt design that will be limited to the store in the not too distant future!
    Anyway, enough nonsense!
I hope you enjoy the podcast as much as I did making it!
    Much love to you all!

  • #06 - Sophie Newnes
This week I had the pleasure of sitting down with the wonderful Sophie Newnes to discuss all things LGBTI+ in the Jiu Jitsu, and wider martial arts, communities.
It was a SUPER interesting discussion, and I'm really excited to share the conversation with you all! What I will say though is that it's very important that you all understand that whilst we are both from the LGBTI+ community, our opinions don't represent the whole community.
As per the podcast, Sophie also owns and runs the Womma Sportswear brand, and does a lot of work providing free self defence classes for women, so if you're in need of some new gear, or just want to support her in general, be sure to check out her:
    Website: https://wommasportswear.com/
    Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/wommasportswear/
    Instagram: @wommasportswear
    Twitter: @WOMMASportswear
I love meeting and talking to everyone who's been lovely enough to agree to come on the podcast, but I have to admit, this was possibly my favourite discussion/conversation thus far.
So I REALLY hope you all enjoy it as much as I enjoyed recording it.
As always, the podcast itself can be found on SoundCloud and iTunes.
It was a really fun and interesting chat, and I really hope you enjoy!
    Much love to you all

  • #05 - Rosi Sexton
    Ahoy!
I recently had the pleasure of sitting down with the lovely Rosi Sexton!
We covered a lot of topics, from her career in the UFC, to her work in Osteopathy. It was super nice to speak to her, this is also the first time I've conducted one of these interviews without a rigid list of questions, which I found very helpful.
As per the podcast, be sure to check out Rosi's new website, combatsportsclinic.net, to get access to her new Neck Strengthening Seminar!
Also, Rosi will be hosting a seminar at the Female Fighters Summer Camp in Kendal from the 24th-26th of August:
    https://www.facebook.com/events/188408955107986/permalink/249650952317119/
The camp also includes seminars, open mats, Strength & Conditioning sessions, and other fun activities, run by Sophie Cox, Vanessa English, and Ffion Davies, in addition to Rosi.
As always, the podcast itself can be found on Soundcloud and iTunes.
It was a really fun and interesting chat, and I really hope you enjoy!
    Much love to you all

  • #04 - Melanie Doran
    Ahoy!
Today I got to sit down with one of the UK's most recently promoted Female Black Belts, Melanie Doran!
The conversation jumped around a lot, but it was great to talk about her injuries, her recovery, and how her approach to Jiu Jitsu has been adapted to accomodate a reduced level of mobility.
    I really hope you enjoy!

  • #03 - Helen Currie
This week I was able to sit down and chat to the wonderfully inspiring Helen Currie! Helen was the UK's very first female BJJ Black Belt, and still remains one of the most active and passionate coaches around!
It was an absolute pleasure to meet her, and a real honour to have my mind, body, and spirit crushed by her superior Jiu Jitsu!
There are a number of issues with the recording, for which I can only apologise. I've tried to reduce the loudness of the terrible ticking, and have done my best, but it still persists.
As the intro advises, please listen on low volume first if you're listening on a portable device, and adjust to the first instance of static in order to salvage your enjoyment.
I love you all, and can't wait till the next!
