Hey film buds,
We hope you all had a lovely Thanksgiving and are glad to be joining y’all this Black Friday. In the holiday spirit we’re joined by Friend of the Show, and my sister, Madelaine Davis. She swung by to help us close out Thanksgiving with a review of Planes, Trains and Automobiles, which was just released on 4K. Beyond our review we also talk Holiday Movie Season, the Bob Iger’s return to Disney, and more.
If you haven’t already, be sure to check out last week’s episode.
Enjoy y’all,
The Buds

Hey film buds,
Thanksgiving can be stressful. Travel, pending winter, and the pressure to “enjoy” the holidays can be a lot. Plus, not everyone loves being stuck with family for extended periods of time. But can the holiday be scary?
This week, following a brief hiatus, we’re back with a Thanksgiving Horror Double Feature. First, we decided to get into a fowl mood with the turkey-slasher Thankskilling. Second, we decided to take advantage of Hulu’s holiday-centric horror anthology Into the Dark as we review Pilgrim. Beyond our double review we’ll talk media news, our Thanksgiving plans, and more.
In case you missed it, be sure to also check out our first Thanksgiving episode from earlier this month.
Thanks y’all,
The Buds

Hey film buds,
Fall is officially upon us at last. After months of the days growing shorter and temperatures dropping, we’ve finally arrived. But what to do for Fall Film?
Well, this month we’ll be celebrating that cinematically glanced over holiday, Thanksgiving. Personally, I hate the stupid day. But that doesn’t mean there isn’t fun to be had, movies to be watched, and appreciation to be garnered.
For our first film, we’ll be discussing The Addams Family Values. The sequel to the 1990s film is arguably one of the few films to center any of its focus on the holiday, but does that mean it fits with the ideals of the day? We’ll review the film, discuss Thanksgiving on screen, and more.
If you haven’t already, be sure to check out last week’s episode.
Thanks y’all,
The Buds

Hey film buds,
Paul and Henry had the chance to catch up recently. With so much going on it can sometime be good to catch-up, chat films candidly, and have a little fun. Plus it is always an honor and a pleasure to have Henry on the show.
Enjoy y'all,

Darkness falls upon us film buds,
The witching hour grows near, and All Hallow’s Eve is at long last here. So, we’ve decided to give you a bloody good Halloween Holiday with the Return of the Slasher Extravaganza. Friend of the Show Nick Delgadillo joins us as we talk about conventions of the Slasher, two of the major franchises with Texas Chainsaw and Child’s Play, as well as Sci-Fi Slashers. Don’t forget to carve your pumpkins, leave out some cold-cuts for the Ghabaghoul, and snuggle up with a favorite Horror film this weekend.
If you haven't already, make sure to check out Part I and Part II of our previous Slasher Extravaganza and last week's episode.
Happy Halloween y’all,
The Buds

Hey film buds,
We are only one week away from the holiday we’ve all been waiting for - HALLOWEEN! This week we decided to look at an exciting first film from a director we covered earlier this year with Julia Ducournau’s Raw. We’ll review the film, compare it to Titane, discuss cannibalism, and more.
Make sure to sign up for our Newsletter if you haven’t already, and check out last week’s episode and our Titane review.

Hey film buds,
Mid October is a wonderful chance to celebrate two things; Hispanic Heritage Month and Horror. This week we are doing just that with our Friend of the Show, Nick Delgadillo. For our main feature we’ll talk about the 2019 film La Llorona, which ties into the genocide in Guatemala in our El Norte episode. We also discuss Hauntings, What We’re Watching, and more.
Also, be sure to check out last week’s episode.
Enjoy y’all,

Hey film buds,
It is that magical time of year when Fall begins. The trees change their color, the wind carries a warning chill of Winter, and the meals grow hearty. But best of all, it means Halloween is near.
Here on the show we love to be chilled to the bone, scared out of our skin, and frightened to death. So all month long we’ll be getting y’all into that spooky spirt. First on the block is Ti West’s The House of the Devil. West has recently been catching attention for X and Pearl, but he had bonafide chops before then. We’ll discuss his filmography, “True Life” horror, and more.
If you haven’t already, make sure you check out last week’s episode. Also, make sure to check out Frome for some great movie art.
Thank y’all,

Hey film buds,
Hispanic Heritage has been a great journey, allowing us to learn and experience so much from these cultures. This week we aimed to travel even further cinematically in time and space than many of the more recent films discussed. For that reason we are reviewing and discussing El Norte. We’ll discuss American Intervention, the effect of breaking movies into parts, and more.
Be sure to check out last week’s episode and all our Hispanic Heritage episodes.

Hey film buds,
Hispanic culture today is the result of centuries of complex interactions, influenced by traditional native and folk culture, colonialism, and Catholicism. For this week’s movie and look at Hispanic Heritage we are reviewing Retablo. The title comes from a traditional art form, and the tale is a complex one of masculinity, fragility, and family. We’ll discuss the film, familiarity with Catholic art, and more.
If you haven’t already, be sure to check out last week’s episode.
Thanks y’all,
