On this episode of the Film Sessions Podcast, we are excited to feature Jason, David, and Kevin Gonzalez:
“The Gonzalez Triplets (Jason, David, and Kevin Gonzalez) The Gonzalez Triplets are identical American actors with Mexican heritage. These brothers have a passion for martial arts and acting. They received their BFA in Theatre (Acting) at Cal Poly Pomona and are fluent in both English and Spanish. As triplets, we have always had a strong bond and a shared love for the performing arts. Growing up in Watsonville, California, we were exposed to a variety of cultural influences that shaped our creative passions. We were particularly drawn to the discipline and physicality of martial arts, and began training in Shorinji-Ryu Karate at a young age. As we progressed through the ranks and earned our black belts, we became interested in exploring other disciplines such as MMA, Aiki Jujutsu, Boxing, Okinawan kobudō, and Single Sword. Our dedication to martial arts has not only helped us develop strength, agility, and coordination, but it has also given us the opportunity to showcase our skills in action-packed performances.
In addition to our martial arts training, we have also pursued formal education in acting. We studied Theatre emphasis in Acting at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, where we received our Bachelors of Arts in Theatre (Acting) in May 2022. Our studies included courses in voice, Shakespeare, Anton Chekhov, stage combat, and improvisation, as well as practical workshops in filmmaking. Our education has not only broadened our understanding of the craft of acting, but it has also given us the skills and confidence to bring complex characters to life on stage and screen.
Throughout our careers, we have had the privilege of appearing in a variety of theatre productions and short films. Some of our notable credits include The Cradle Will Rock, Zorro X2, Shakespeare: Banished, Mr. Burns, Underdog, and Service With A Smile. We have also gained recognition for our ability to design fight choreography, having been awarded the Meritorious Achievement award by KCACTF Region 8 for our work on Zorro X2 at Cal Poly Pomona.
As triplets, we have a unique bond that allows us to work seamlessly together both on and off stage. Our shared passion for martial arts and acting has brought us closer together and has helped us develop a strong sense of teamwork and collaboration. We are grateful for the opportunities that have come our way and we are always looking for new challenges and ways to grow as artists. We are excited to see where our careers will take us and we are dedicated to delivering high-quality performances and fight choreography.”
