“Hey! I am Sanandha Prabu, but people call me Sana for short. I am 17 years old and I've just finished my junior year at Sinarmas World Academy in Indonesia. Although I was born in India, Indonesia is the place I proudly call home. I was raised in Bandung which is an incredible city that sparks creativity and has shaped the way I view the world. You see, every time I pass through one of Bandung’s busiest streets, Simpang Dago, I see Pak Muchtar: an old man who busks with puppets that he makes out of rubber sandals. I became fascinated by his skills and had a strong desire to record his story. “The Puppet Master Of Bandung”, a documentary which I made, is an example of how art is interwoven into simple lives. I started a path of exploration and dove deeply into the intriguing realm of Pak Muchtar with the support of my beloved family and friends. My love for his work intensified as I discovered more about his artistic processes, approaches, and methods. I was very moved by the commitment and creativity that goes into his very unique approach towards busking and I felt that I had to tell the world about him and his creations.”

“I am a smartphone indie filmmaker. I was born in Spain, but I am currently living in Poland. With zero budget and very minimalistic filmmaking resources, I have directed five short films/documentaries so far (“EXtress”, “La voz de Galicia (The voice of Galicia)”, “The Mauve Pansy”, “Navidad poscovid (Christmas post-Covid)” and “Packed Up”).

All my productions have been shot using a smartphone. I have written and directed all the short films, starring most of them as well.

I have been highly influenced by iconic filmmakers such as Stanley Kubrick, David Lynch or Paul Thomas Anderson. I am interested in all the filmmaking genres, types and processes. I continue learning self-taught. I am especially interested in the surrealism movement and I really like the usage of allegories and symbolism in the movies. My favorite film is “Eyes Wide Shut” by Stanley Kubrick.”

Many of the things I love will find their way into my work, such as fabric and cats, big or small. I love to tell stories and believe that a film does not need a lot of dialogue to be effective.”
