“My name is Neel Bhonde, and I am the director of the short film, The Insatiable War which has been nominated for the Best Super Short Film category, at the 2023 Student World Impact Film Festival. I am 12 years old, going into 7 grade, and a fan of making short stop motion videos in my free time. Ever since I was little I loved to watch films like Wallace and Grumet, Shaun the Sheep, and The Adventures of Bert and Ernie. These movies and shows inspired my hobby of stop motion. I always admired the time and effort put into these beautiful products. Seeing the process always gave me joy. The playfulness of stop-motion enhanced my creative side. I have made about 50 short stop-motion films. The process I follow usually is taking household items or modeling clay and making these short films. First I decide on a topic- Whether it be a problem happening that day or a comedic act. Then through a simple object, I try to express my topic. Most of my films take about 2-3 hours to make. Every film that I make always has a thought behind it - it could be a moral lesson, an observation, or a quick joke. I think that is why most of my films connect with people.
