BAD DAY BAD DAY BAD DAY! Just kidding, it's a great day with the sibs crashing into a discussion of Jackie Chan's Police Story from 1985. Shannon and Tristan both love Jackie and if he's done something wrong guess what they don't want to hear about it. Digressions include Tom Cruise, insurance difficulties for stunt performers, and the sibs get horny on main for Jackie's lil tush. Play the theme song to this movie on repeat and thank us later.

The sibs discuss class distinctions and semi-basements in this week's episode about Bong Joon-ho's best pic winner Parasite. Does Tristan smell different because of his many years riding Boston public transit? Is this our favorite film that features a character deep-throating a banana? Try to survive this prosperity-rock-blow-to-the-head of an episode!

The sibs try to separate the Tár from the Tártist (to quote Griffin Newman) in this week's episode about Todd Field's 2022 fictional biopic Tár. Tristan has no regrets about his Ocean's 11 opinions and for once doesn't want anyone to be his uncle. Both sibs wax rhapsodic about Cate Blanchett's performance as Lydia (LINDA?!) Tár and whether the head cellist Olga knew exactly what she was doing or just didn't give a f*ck if Lydia liked her or not. Tie up those loose ends folks, this episode's packed!

Dune (the book) is referenced in this movie but for once the sibs don't talk about it! Cory Finley's Bad Education (2019) gets Tristan waxing rhapsodic about his love of true crime (but not really serial killers). Shannon recognises a ton of actors she doesn't know and is generally loopy. Tristan ultimately is just looking for a great-uncle, preferably one that's mob-associated.

The sibs are back after a brief hiatus to discuss Shannon's next pick, Jûzô Itami's 1985 film Tampopo. Tristan finally confesses to not liking Ocean's 11 (after getting a bunch of actors wrong) and Shannon professes her love for pizza (not a food featured in this film). This one's a bit all over folks, sort of like Tampopo itself, but isn't it great that we get to eat?

The sibs battle over whether this film is an unforgivable stinker or has some redeeming qualities.

Kidding! But Shannon basically hated it. Almost as much as the film itself hates women. Prescient political satire or just encouraging folks to "do their own research?" Tristan will never be forgiven for this choice.

The sibs discuss Shannon's second pick, Mike Nichols' The Birdcage. Is there an accent Hank Azaria can't do? Or rather, an accent he shouldn't do?? John Wayne's walk, the absurdity of modern life and politics, and the integral question of IS SOUP AN ENTREE? are all addressed here.

The admittedly tired sibs dive into Scorsese's 2019 crime epic, The Irishman. Bad accents abound and yes, they are still bringing up Dune 2. BUT they ultimately decide that this is a very cozy and soothing film. We stan Raisin Man Pesci and his butt nose.

The sibs settle in to discuss Billy Wilder's 1950 noir classic, Sunset Boulevard! Tangents and references about Dune 2 are inevitable, in addition to a lively discussion where Shannon gets so excited she loses her words, Tristan says he would lie to Betty to be with her, and both sibs try out their 1950's voiceover voice.
