This podcast, like any of our classroom episodes, is the best way to get answers to questions like..."Is it really worth it", "Will I actually learn enough in 4 days" or my all time favorite, "can't I just learn it on YouTube"?

It may be a long one, but these questions and so many more get answered by the people that made the leap, signed up and trusted in Tom and the crew. The most raw and real way to get testimonials as these students are put on the spot right in the middle of the class and are asked questions and given the time to share their own personal feedback and thoughts on the experience. A MUST if you are looking for a true education on photo and video production.

Tom has a great conversation with good friend and fellow show host Willi Schmidt of Pure Hunting and a student of Film The Hunt Jon Raber. From the extreme roller coaster of a hunt as well as Jon's insight from his first trip with Tom and the crew, this episode offers a lot to any listener. Get the details on the troubles they faced with weather, gear and one hung up gobbler after the next. All of which ended in success as Tom got a bird on the ground and Jon had Tom by his side to overcome all obstacles to capture his first ever successful hunt on film.

Useful information, great stories and as always many laughs as they enjoy a beer and a cigar while sharing it all with you.

Direct from one of our largest classes ever which was a huge success and the students have so much to say. If you are on the fence about attending, there is no better podcast for you to listen to. These students have been pulled into the podcast (at their own discretion of course LOL) and asked questions they weren't prepared for. 100% real, 100% honest and on the spot answers to much of the same you are probably wondering right now yourself. Listen for your own good and don't keep putting off your dreams. We won't let you down!

Tom has an early morning conversation over a hot cup of coffee with whitetail legend Adam Hays III. This is the start of many conversations coming up with Adam as he and Tom have so much in common and so much to talk about. This one, will kick off with an introduction of Adam if you don't already know him as he and Tom talk about the early days and what got Adam into the hunting industry to start. And here's a little spoiler alert, how do you think he got started? Yep, filming hunts. Something you've heard Tom talk about so much on this podcast. Being an outdoor producer has opened doors for so many over the years including some of the industry's most famous faces. Although short and sweet, this chat with Adam will leave you wanting more as he just begins to talk about how he's harvested 4 bucks over 200 inches, is the owner of the popular "Moon Guide" and has recently released his first ever book called Red October. If you like hunting whitetails and filming hunts, you dont want to miss this one.

You're already intrigued, I know it LOL. And you will be even more when you listen to this one. Tom has a great conversation with a new friend and they introduce a new product to the hunting market. Bryan Yoder, a hunter, young entrepreneur, and an all around great guy has come up with a product to help your trail cameras disappear. And in turn, capturing more mature bucks and helping to reduce theft. An amazing product for sure but this one hits home for Tom for more than one reason. Often on this podcast, you hear him talk so much about "what it takes" to make a living as a producer in the industry. And during this convo, you hear Bryan's story and realize it's much of the same qualities that create success just about anywhere. Have you ever heard the saying about "luck" being when preparation meets opportunity? Things don't just come to you. You need grit, determination, passion, a business sense, personality, a good product and most importantly the will to get up, dust yourself off and continue on once you've been knocked down. And Tom thinks Bryan has it all. If you are looking to be inspired to make a decision on something you keep putting off, or simply want to start your own business. Listen to this one for the spark you need to stop making excuses and just do it.

Tom and Jorden finally get a chance to sit down and tell the story of how the 2025 Colorado Elk season ended for them. We left you hanging before, but now Jorden dives deep into how it all came together for him on a solo mission at the buzzer. And Tom goes into how having the kill shot on film can in some cases be very insignificant to the story and the entertainment value of your time spent watching it. Creating entertaining hunting content these days can be tough as there are so many arguable topics to what makes it "good". But listen as these 2 break it down and tell me you don’t want to watch the edit when it comes out even though you already know, you aren't going to see the actual kill shot.

Our 100th podcast release and it couldn't be a better topic launching at a more opportune time, the holidays. You don't have to film hunts to enjoy this one, in fact you don't even have to be a hunter. Your host, Tom Petry visits with 4 different groups of people to share very special stories from this hunting season. Stories of good people/hunters doing selfless, good things for others without the expectations of a return. Some of these stories and the friendships that came out of them, are almost unbelievable. A chain of events that regardless of your beliefs, happened "for a reason". Memories that will be cherished by all parties involved for a lifetime. Tom hopes that this podcast will be the most shared Film The Hunt Podcast ever in efforts to help promote the fact that despite what we sometimes see on social media, most people are good. We all just need to do a better job of breaking out of our comfort zone at times and make it a point to meet more people and to help spread more kindness and joy. In light of this holiday season, we ask that you please listen, share this with a friend or loved one and most of all we thank you, for being a good person.

It may be long, but it's worth the listen, trust me!

Thank You so much to both old friends and new for spending the time talking with me on this one; Blake VanTussenbrook (Badlands Gear), Brian McPeek (Landowner), Jason Matzinger & Tara Banks (Into High Country & Tara Banks Art), Jorden Susewitz (Film The Hunt), Cody Salzman (Elk Hunter), Caleb Pool (Elk Hunter).

Tom mixes up a refreshing bevy as he sits down with Blake VanTussenbrook from Badlands to chat about Ohio deer camp and some new and exciting gear coming down the pipe for Badlands. Ohio deer camp has become very special for this crew over the years and this conversation goes deep into the who, why and where of it all. Plus, this one ends with a great deer story and a BBD for Blake with Tom behind the lens. Don't miss out on this entertaining and heartfelt episode with Tom & Blake.

Tom sits at the table in Montana elk camp near a crackling fire in the woodstove and under a propane lantern as they discuss everything elk. From chatting with newby cameraman and Film The Hunt student about his struggles and WOW moments to reliving the moment we will all leave remembering with the entire crew. This conversation with Tom, Jorden Susewitz, Chris Hayes, Mike Hilbert and Brayden Eppinette is such a fun, educational and valuable one that we feel will inspire you to want to get out west yourself and document these incredible animals. A couple of cocktails and camaraderie the crew wouldn't trade for anything. And happy to be able to share it with you! Enjoy
