Bruno Caetano, producer and founding member of COLA Animation, and Vier, multidisciplinary artist and director, are the guests of the first episode of the third season of Filming in Portugal: See the Big Picture. Together, they brought Lúcido to life, the first Portuguese production selected for the Cannes Immersive Competition.

In conversation with Martin Dale, they take us behind the scenes of this immersive animation, from its origins in Vier’s visual work and fascination with lucid dreaming to the challenges of building a narrative in virtual reality. They also reflect on what VR brings to storytelling, the relationship between technology and artistic creation, and their experience presenting Lúcido at Cannes.

The episode also looks at the collaborative process behind animation, and the talent and growing international recognition of Portuguese animation.
