Films Like The First Time

Dave and Amanda had never watched Stanley Kubrick’s 1964 comedy, Dr. Strangelove. They discuss bodily fluids, cowboy hats, weird names, and insulation. We still aren’t sure Amanda watched the movie. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0057012/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0_tt_8_nm_0_q_Dr.%2520Strangelove https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/dr_strangelove

The gang discuss David Lynch’s 2001 film about Hollywood, Love, and Mole People(?), Mulholland Drive. Amanda and Nick had never seen this film, and they definitely have thoughts. Nick had never watched Guillermo del Toro’s Oscar winning film, Pan’s Labyrinth. We discuss the beautiful yet gruesome visuals, the captain’s chest hair, and how much we liked the movie, despite Ofelia being incredibly annoying. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0457430/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0_tt_7_nm_1_q_Pan%27s%2520L https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/pans_labyrinth

Dave had never seen the 2009 Pixar masterpiece, Up. So we watched, cried, laughed, and discussed the Pete Docter directed film. We discussed the themes of love, loneliness, and parenthood in the film. Squirrel! https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1049413/ https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/up

What’s in the pod!? What’s in the pod!? Somehow, Nick had never watched David Fincher’s very wet 1995 serial killer film, Se7en. This marks the first time we review a film that is in someone’s top five of all time. I’m sure there were no hurt feelings. And I’m sure we all loved Brad Pitt’s acting. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0114369/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1 https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/seven
