Here's a little something extra - "lagniappe" as we say down here in the Boot State: A bonus episode recorded for our Patreon, where Nic and I (Jordan) each pick three (or more) things we've been watching and talk about them - just cuz. It's a nice hangout/chillaxing all cool kind of time. Hope you enjoy!

If you want more bonus content, check out the Filmshake Patreon here.

What we watched/talk about:
The Last Samurai, Deep Cover, King of New York, Ambulance, Inherent Vice, Licorice Pizza, Captive Audience, & Wall-E, early Adam Sandler movies and songs.

We're back and ready to stab your ears with the sound of our sweet voices. Join us with guest, and longtime friend, Jon Peterson, as John Waters' 1994 black comedy, Serial Mom, metaphorically gives us a fruitcake and then backs right over us. To open up the episode, though, we're hard on Waters' Pecker from 1998. Huge shocker, it's not as good as Serial Mom, but it's the punishment film for a reason...but the punishment at the end of this episode's trivia battle is worse than wearing white shoes after Labor Day, or *GASP* NOT RECYCLING!!!

Aye, fight and you may die. Run, and you'll live... at least a while. And dying in your beds, many years from now, would you be willing to trade ALL the days, from this day to that, for one chance, just one chance, to come back here and listen to Filmshake's new episode on 1995's Braveheart? We also talk about 2020's Fatman, a serious family drama where Mel Gibson plays a gun-toting Santa Claus with a drinking problem. Also, it's our wits that make us men, so the episode ends with a trivia battle as manly as haggis on a kilt.
Every podcast dies, not every podcast really lives, but Filmshake does. Listen to Filmshake.

Solarbabies from 1986?! I thought this was a 90's Movies Podcast? Well it is, except on April 1, 2022, when we switched places with Good Times Great Movies, the 80's Movies Podcast.  If you heard our last episode, on 1997's Spice World and 1992's Stop Or My Mom Will Shoot, you may have noticed GTGM's Doug and Jamie behind the microphones instead of us, unless that was your first episode of Filmshake, in which case, that was GTGM's Doug and Jamie behind the microphones instead of us. Meanwhile on their show, we talked Solarbabies, and we were so happy with that conversation, we asked GTGM if they'd be okay with us posting it here. They were, and so here it is in all its inane glory!
Post apocalyptic teenagers roller skating across the desert?
A nonsensical plot supported by even more nonsensical lore?
A sadomasochistic torture robot named Terminack in a movie made for children?
This movie has it all!

For years, listeners have been asking Filmshake, "When are you gonna cover 1997's Spice World?" Well, your Filmshake prayers have finally been answered...with a cruel April Fools twist!... because Spice World is only the opening course for our main dish, 1992's Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot. Which of these films has a worse script? Which has worse dialogue? Which is less funny? What happens when our hosts don't agree on whether or not both of these are even bad? Is anything real?

Also, please check out our good friends at Good Times Great Movies. Without them, this episode would not have been possible. In fact, if you check out their episode today, you might hear some familiar voices:

In 1847, Martin Glynn sailed from Galway, Ireland, so that his great-great grandson, Nic, could one day honor his Irish legacy, by co-hosting a podcast focused upon the 1997 cinematic sleeper, The Matchmaker, and 2000's Leprechaun in the Hood. Why would you ever kiss the Blarney Stone for luck, when you could listen to Jordan Courtney compare a woman's smile to the anatomy of a Basset Hound? Yes, it's a St. Patrick's Day spectacular, as only Filmshake can do, a veritable four-leaf clover of audio perfection. You'll be Dublin over with laughter. Yes...Dublin over...we write these descriptions ourselves.
Also, there's a pot of gold at the end of this podcast rainbow in the form of the episode-closing trivia battle. Will Jordan finally experience the luck of the Irish, or will he go out like that thing James Joyce 's wife did that he liked.

The most well-rounded movie podcast returns with an episode that's sure to rack up accolades.  Within the firm-wired support of Filmshake, Jordan and Nic use 1996's Barb Wire as a buoyant excuse to talk about the first time Nic saw a naked woman, the time ten-year-old Jordan's Dad took him to see Barb Wire, and something that Nic did in a cornfield, which also relates to the first time Nic saw a naked woman--anything to avoid talking about the actual plot of 1996's Barb Wire. Jugs of pertinent information bounce right out of your favorite podcast hosts' mouths, virtually none of it even orbiting the globes of 1996's Barb Wire. Motor-boat as fast as you can to your nearest podcast provider, today! Be knockers on the door of our podcast glory...

Also, Jordan and Nic talk for a minute about 1987's The Running Man, mostly about how much they wish this episode was actually about The Running Man, while closing the episode with their most titillating trivia battle yet.

Hey, Bra! Filmshake is poised to become the most popular podcast on Earth by taking to the sky! ...or by covering the highly underrated, should-be beloved rollerblading teen dramedy, 1993's Airborne. Can the skateboarding Jordan "rollerblades are lame" Courtney find acceptance in his heart for a movie about in-line skating? Does Nic really think that a movie featuring an "I'm Too Sexy" wardrobe montage ends with one of the greatest action scenes of the 90's? Well, we kind of gave that away in the third sentence.
Also, we kick off the show with the non-punishment film, 1989's Gleaming the Cube, to make sure that skateboarding gets some representation too. Man wasn't meant to fly, but Filmshake was!

Merry Christmas/Happy Hanukkah/Blessed non-religious secular holiday celebration! Our gift to you is a two-hour long Batman Returns episode! What present could be better than the ultimate Filmshake experience, where Nic essentially equates a 1992 film where the lead character dresses like a bat and another dresses in a leather catsuit with the best works of Fritz Lang, while Jordan points out that the vast majority of that film's dialogue revolves around genitalia. Are you in the mood for Nic to once again bring the holidays down with talks of depression and bleak darkness? Can Jordan ever get him to stop talking? You've got to listen to the most Filmshake episode of Filmshake ever!
Also, we talk for a few moments about 1990's Captain America, which...isn't as good as Tim Burton's Batman Returns...or most movies. And last but not least, we're joined by another special guest for the episode-ending trivia battle. It's gonna be a hot time on the cold town tonight...and we do have a dark side.

Stardate...2021...Jordan Courtney and Nicholas Loup watch 1991's...Star Trek VI...The Undiscovered Country. One of the two is a Trekkie, but the other...just...doesn't...care. Beam yourself up to some classic Filmshake goodness, even if you don't know the difference between a Klingon and a Klingoff.
Also, set phasers to soft, gauzy lighting because the punishment movie to kick off this episode is 1996's Anna Nicole Smith-starring Skyscraper. We thought this would just be a stupid, goofy Die Hard ripoff, and it is, but it's also a softcore pornography. There's nothing softcore about this episode's trivia battle though, as Nic boldy asks trivia questions no man (or...anyone) would know the answers to. The Prime Directive dictates you warp ten this episode into your ears. Engage!
