Films(trips)

Andrew and Dave head to Virgil, Texas in this episode of Films(trips) to talk about David Byrne's one and only feature film as a writer, director, and star, TRUE STORIES! What exactly will the duo make of this atypical cult film? Can the pair agree on exactly what a vanity project is? And will Annie McEnroe break their hearts while singing over a (delightfully) silly fashion show? Tune in and find out!

Next Episode: Look, there isn't much of a chance of John Landis or Dan Aykroyd listening into this podcast, but if they do, just skip the next episode, okay?

All music by Andrew Kannegeisser.

Films(trips) hits fifty episodes, and to celebrate, Andrew and Dave made an episode less than 80 minutes in length! That's not because the pair are lacking in subjects to talk about when it comes to STOP MAKING SENSE, the 1984 concert film from director Jonathan Demme which showcases a stunning performance from the legendary band, the Talking Heads!

Next Episode: A wild, wild life.

Andrew and Dave trade in Abel Ferrara's sleazy tale of murder in New York for NBC's much more cheerful tale of murder in Los Angeles! That's right, this time out, the pair take a look at the TV movie (or is that a TV episode?) COLUMBO: MURDER UNDER GLASS, starring the great Peter Falk and Louis Jordan! How will the pair justify this choice in a show dedicated to film? How much do the pair love the quirky TV cop? And will Dave deliver a rate that was rendered pointless about twenty minutes after the episode was recorded? Tune in and find out!

Next Episode: This is not your beautiful house. This is not your beautiful wife. But it is your concert film.
