Films(trips)

Andrew and Dave breath a sigh of relief this episode as they no longer have to discuss real life tragedy (at least for an entire episode) by moving on from AFTERMATH to M.J. Bassett's SILENT HILL: REVELATION, the 2012 sequel to the 2006 horror film/video game adaptation SILENT HILL. Will either Andrew or Dave find something nice to say about the film? Will game fans be more upset by the film, or by Dave's ignorance of the series (and video games in general)? And what the heck does Dolly Parton have to do with any of this? Tune in and find out!

Next Episode: Exhibit 876 in the case of "Cinema Patrons Vs. Lorne Michaels."

All Music by Andrew Kannegiesser. Well, except the outro music this week.

Andrew and Dave head into Arnold Schwarzenegger territory by taking look at Elliot Lester's AFTERMATH, the 2017 drama about trauma, grief, and large scale tragedy. What do the pair make of this meditative film inspired by real life events? Will they be emotionally exhausted before the conversation even starts? Tune in and find out!

Next Episode: Oh thank God, a terrible video game film. And it's a sequel, as well!

Andrew and Dave finally take a look at a film from their home country of Canada in the form of Denis Villenuve's ENEMY. What will the duo make of the film? Can they come to a conclusion about what it all means? Will Dave drop endless references to other Canadian content? Tune in and find out!

Next Episode: The duo try and survive having their souls crushed by...Arnold Schwarzenegger?!

Andrew and Dave crash land in the good ol' USSR (Google it, kids) and take a look at Taylor Hackford's 1985 political thriller/dance movie WHITE NIGHTS, starring Mikhail Baryshnikov (Google him as well) and Gregory Hines (once again, Google). What possible plot could combine international politics, ballet, and tap dancing? Will Andrew and Dave be forced to admit their ignorance of the history and art of dance? Will the duo agree about the quality of Lou Reed's music in the 1980s? Listen in and find out!

Next Episode: Toronto is a state of mind, because in Canada we have provinces and territories! Thank you! I'll be here all week.

Leaving the 1953 film THE ROBE behind them (as well as the year 2018), Andrew and Dave turn their attention to the 1971 Donald Siegel psychological drama / thriller THE BEGUILED, starring Clint Eastwood! What do the pair make of this out of the ordinary Eastwood film? How creepy can Eastwood get? And will either Andrew of Dave ever be able to eat mushrooms again? Tune in and find out!

Next Episode: Dance! Dance like geopolitics (or at least a few rubles) depended on it!
