#FinanceMaster

The goal of the “touchless” Finance Function is fundamentally to remove friction - to minimize the amount of time spent transaction processing, data handling, and reporting. In this episode, Anders explains how to achieve the art of the possible, and highlights the key steps that firms should take to free up valuable resources for value-added work.

Inspired by analyst, David Axson, who believes that business automation through machine learning and robotic systems will enable Finance teams to spend 75% of its time on decision support and predictive analysis, Anders explores the birth of this new Finance operating model and how it is reorganizing entire businesses.

When so many Finance professionals are found to be guilty of perfectionism (the likely result of a role defined by precision-based processes and quantitative data), Anders explores the negative impacts this trait can have, and why an alternative focus on creative and strategic thinking is the key to unlocking real business value.

In the third series of #FinanceMaster, Anders Liu-Lindberg looks at how the the Finance Function is entering a new phase, and how businesses and Finance professionals are most likely to "win" if they embrace the new and emerging ways of working.

In the last episode of this series, Anders explains why the role of Finance isn't just a "supporting" one when it comes to decision making, and why the impact that Finance departments can have, certainly doesn't end once a business decision has been made.

As the series nears its end, Anders turns his attentions to the one area of career development that Finance professionals have so far failed to focus - and it's one that can yield significant results, very rapidly. Unfortunately, it's also the one many dread: presenting.

With many Finance professionals admitting to feeling that much of their time is spent analyzing data, and often with little certainty as to its higher purpose, Anders explores how to avoid analysis "becoming the death of the you".

In this episode, Anders' broaches the topic of "The Dashboard Revolution", and whether the notable growth in visualisation tools, as well as their increased customisation and adoption is positive for the Finance Function.

When industry surveys consistently highlight that businesses spend approximately 70% of their time "cleaning" data, how can professionals ensure they maintain good data hygiene, more efficiently.

In a world where it's now possible to measure almost every activity that an organization carries out, Anders explores the first step in the data collection to insight and impact journey; the initial gathering of the data itself.
