Wow wow wow! The world building and character development was fire and so detailed I felt like I was there experiencing all these new places, her descriptions were so spot on I can’t believe someone was able to conjure this from their mind! There was enough strife and tension to keep you reading and engaged but at the same time it was relatable problems any relationships may run into in the beginning stages, such an amazing book!
Husband joins me for this episode and we talk about The Long Game! I actually get really candid about this book and my controversial thoughts on it *queue grimace*
"His best friend’s little sister is not an option. No one ever accused Beckett Loew of being the nice Loew brother, especially not Sunny Du Jardin."
With an intro like that...sheesh I knew it would be good and it definitely exceeded expectations! I am a true Kate Canterbary fan! The town is Friendship, this is where In A Jam was based at well, and I am obsessed with all of the characters that we see come through this book.

The writing was beautiful almost poetic, even though the world building wasn’t the strongest, it still made you feel like you were there with the characters. The story made your heartache, I definitely shed some tears for what Iris had to go through. The world was definitely not what I was expecting, it was set in almost a 40’s setting with typewriters, trains, but had the fantasy aspect of gods and goddesses. I really liked this Young Adult Fantasy!
