Story Transcript:
Cy: Drwy drysau mawr yr Amgueddfa Genedlaethol Caerdydd, cerddodd Gwyneth a Emrys.
En: Through the grand doors of the Amgueddfa Genedlaethol Caerdydd, Gwyneth and Emrys walked.
Cy: Roedd yr aer yn crisp, er bod y gaeaf wedi cyrraedd, y tu mewn i'r amgueddfa roedd cynhesrwydd a golau yn croesawu ymwelwyr.
En: The air was crisp, even though winter had arrived; inside the museum, warmth and light welcomed visitors.
Cy: Roedd y traddodiadol a'r modern yn byw ochr yn ochr yn y prif orielau, gŵyl i'r llygaid a'r meddwl.
En: The traditional and the modern lived side by side in the main galleries, a feast for the eyes and the mind.
Cy: Roedd Gwyneth, myfyriwr celf brwdfrydig, yn llawn cyffro.
En: Gwyneth, an enthusiastic art student, was full of excitement.
Cy: Ond, y waith yma, nid oedd ganddi fawr o obaith wrth edrych ar yr arddangosfa gelf gyfoes a oedd yn destun dadl.
En: But this time, she didn't have much hope when looking at the contemporary art exhibition that was a subject of debate.
Cy: Roedd rhannau gwych cerfluniau clasig yn ei hysbrydoli, ond roedd y gweithiau hyn yn herio ei dealltwriaeth o gelfyddyd.
En: Magnificent parts of classic statues inspired her, but these works challenged her understanding of art.
Cy: "Ydy hyn gelf?" meddai Gwyneth yn amheus wrth edrych ar graffiad mawr o liwiau liwgar.
En: "Is this art?" Gwyneth said doubtfully as she looked at a large splash of colorful hues.
Cy: Roedd hi wedi synnu.
En: She was surprised.
Cy: "O, yn sicr," atebodd Emrys, ei fentor ac eiriolwr brwd dros gelf wyneb-chwith.
En: "Oh, certainly," replied Emrys, her mentor and a fervent advocate for avant-garde art.
Cy: "Y lliwiau hyn, maent yn creu ystyr dwfn oddi mewn i ni."
En: "These colors, they create deep meaning within us."
Cy: "Ond beth yw’r ystyr y mae’n ei gyfleu?" Holodd Gwyneth, cyffrous i wybod.
En: "But what is the message it's conveying?" Gwyneth asked, eager to know.
Cy: "Ystyr yw prif arian i bawb, Gwyneth.
En: "Meaning is subjective to everyone, Gwyneth.
Cy: Edrych ar hwn heb osgo clasurol," esboniodd Emrys yn frwdfrydig.
En: Look at this without a classical perspective," Emrys explained enthusiastically.
Cy: "Y gwaith hwn yn sôn am y cymhlethdod yn ein bywydau dyddiol.
En: "This work speaks about the complexity of our daily lives.
Cy: Mae'r lliwiau yn cyd-fynd â phob teimlo."
En: The colors resonate with every emotion."
Cy: Cerddodd y ddau ymlaen drwy'r orielau.
En: The two of them continued walking through the galleries.
Cy: Roedd un gwaith, cerflun mai ddim byd mwy na chydosodiad o offer cegin wedi’u taflu, yn eu disgwyl.
En: One piece, a sculpture that was nothing more than an assemblage of discarded kitchen utensils, awaited them.
Cy: Ehangodd Gwyneth ei llygaid.
En: Gwyneth widened her eyes.
Cy: "Mae'n dangos sut mae ein bywydau'n cael eu siapio gan bethau arferol," cyngorodd Emrys eto, yn canu clodydd yr artist.
En: "It shows how our lives are shaped by ordinary things," Emrys advised again, singing the praises of the artist.
Cy: Wrth iddynt gyrraedd darn mwyaf dadleuol yr arddangosfa, teimlai Gwyneth wrthgyferbyniad dwfn yn amrywiol o emosiynau yn ihr o liwiau quixotic a chylchoedd anghyfannedd.
En: As they reached the most controversial piece of the exhibition, Gwyneth felt a profound contrast in a variety of emotions within the quixotic colors and barren circles.
Cy: Gwnaeth Emrys brosesiad o ystyron, ac yn y funud honno wnaeth Gwyneth ddechrau gweld.
En: Emrys processed the meanings, and in that moment, Gwyneth began to see.
Cy: "Dwi'n gweld," ydy gwich Gwyneth o'r diwedd.
En: "I see," squealed Gwyneth finally.
Cy: "Mae'n mynd i'r afael â'r syniad o newid, sut mae popeth yn symud a datblygu."
En: "It addresses the idea of change, how everything is moving and evolving."
Cy: "Dyma beth yw celf, Gwyneth," gwrendeledd Emrys, gyda mantes bodlon.
En: "This is what art is, Gwyneth," echoed Emrys, with satisfied pride.
Cy: Nid oedd yr oriel bellach yn fater dadleuol iddi.
En: The gallery was no longer a matter of contention for her.
Cy: Gwelodd Gwyneth harddwch ym mhob newid cyfeiriad artistig.
En: Gwyneth saw beauty in every change of artistic direction.
Cy: Gwadu realiti ei whangymeriad cyntaf. Nawr, roedd hi'n barod i greu ei aseiniad unigryw, llawn gwybodaeth.
En: Denying her initial misunderstanding, she was now ready to create her unique, informed assignment.
Cy: Diweddodd dydd Gwyneth yn yr amgueddfa gyda dealltwriaeth newydd, celf oedd, er hynny, agor drws i'r annisgwyl.
En: Gwyneth's day at the museum ended with a new understanding; art was, after all, an opening to the unexpected.
Cy: Roedd hi'n edrych ymlaen yn fawr at ysgrifennu ei haseiniad, gyda hyder newydd mewn ei barn.
En: She looked forward eagerly to writing her assignment, with newfound confidence in her opinion.
Cy: Ending y stori?
En: Ending the story?
Cy: Mae Gwyneth yn agored ei meddwl, wedi colli ei rhagfarnau am gelf newydd.
En: Gwyneth is open-minded, having shed her prejudices about new art.
Cy: Roedd hi’n teimlo bodlonrwydd wrth fynd i mewn i’r byd celf gyda dealltwriaeth newydd.
En: She felt a sense of fulfillment as she entered the art world with a new understanding.
