  • 45. Where Does Our Power Lead Us?

I've been thinking a lot about anger, power, force, selfishness, and glory in the context of Books 1-4 in The Iliad. I try to sort out these things here. And then I try to lay out what the opposite is. Also, other commentary on Books 1-4 of The Iliad.

  • 44. Serving God or Serving Ourselves

"Do we find salvation in ourselves or in God?" This seems to be the basic question in Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy in the Bible. I talk about how we can pursue our own glory, or how we can pursue God's glory.

  • Why Did the Modern Understanding of Time come from the West

This year I'm doing World History. The author of our history book seems to assume that the development of the understanding in the West was natural and that that is the natural bent of the world. He leaves out a detail that would seem worthy of mention: Christianity.

  • 41. Why is Politics so messy? (Russell Brand and Candace Owens)

This is in part a commentary on a clip of a conversation between Candace Owens and Russell Brand. I felt like this clip certainly displayed where we are at (at best) in modern politics. If we are gods, then we will fall.

  • 40. Did Jordan Peterson Steal the Ideas of Viktor Frankl?

I got done with Man's Search For Meaning by Viktor Frankl. I forgot to mention this in the video, but everyone should make an effort to read this book. I don't really talk about the book as such here because it's hard to put Frankl's ideas any better than he puts them. This video, therefore, is mostly on the connections between Viktor Frankl, Jordan Peterson, and Christianity. Not really sure where these ideas will take me, but it's interesting to ponder.
