Finding Your Village
Episode 01: Create Your Baby Registry from Your Couch
In today’s episode I will be talking about making a baby registry without even leaving your house! So if you are not into the idea of spending hours in a store clicking on products with a registry gun, this episode is for you!
Goal: To help you easily register for the baby products that meet the safety and cost requirements for your family.
What is Baby Bargains:
- Review book that organizes the recommendations by product
- Gives a grade to each product
- Then summarizes their recommendations at the end of each chapter by good, better and best
Why I love this book and why I trust this brand:
- They accept no money from baby-product manufacturers
- Created solely based on feedback from parents
- They check recall information and publish a new version of the book frequently
- They also have a website to supplement the book, so if there is a new product that they reviewed, they will put it online before the updated version of the book is published
- https://www.babybargains.com/
My experience:
- I completed my entire baby registry in one weekend from my couch, with the exception of the car seat and stroller
- I still used the book to help me pick those, I just wanted to feel those items, pick them up and practice closing and opening the stroller
- I still use this book occasionally
- i.e. when I needed to buy a new carseat!
My favorite baby items:
- Baby Bargains book
- Happiest Baby on the Block book or movie
- SwaddleMe Sleep sack
- Sleep sack (wearable blanket)
- Sound machine
- Jammies that zip!
- Ergo Baby Carrier and Moby wrap
You can skip:
- Wipes Warmer
- Pee pee tee pee
- Crib bedding
- Too many clothes for one age group
- Rock n Play
- Multiple baby “containers”
Recap:
With baby bargains you can register for 90% of all the baby items that you will need right from your computer! I do recommend going to a store to physically touch and feel some items like the crib, stroll
