24 years ago, we almost destroyed AXIS because we could not be open and communicate to our team the details after firing of two employees. The Board, HR and our attorneys all said "Take the high road" but it almost killed the business.
This is the story of why Alli almost didn't move to California, and how our company culture was negatively affected for years.
It's healthy (and motivating) to be afraid that we are not delivering the best experience possible for our clients and our team. It's our responsibility to keep AXIS thriving for our clients who depend on us for their health, and for the team members who are supporting themselves and their families. Clients can go anywhere, why do they keep coming back to us? No matter what field you're in or what role you are in, be the absolute best at it!
Jodie is back to discuss why the front desk role is so crucial. It is an extension and a reflection of your business. Giving employees autonomy, the power to make decisions and to do what they think is right is key to our successful culture. Whatever role you are in, if you work your ass off, you can often create your own path to thrive in your career.
Jodie joins us again and describes one of the early lessons she learned at AXIS. Having hard "policies" do not usually serve you well in a small business. It's important to create a strong foundation with clients and have a long term strategy of retention.
Welcome to our guest co-host and AXIS Director of Client & Team Experience, Jodie! Hear how we have created such a strong positive work environment. It may seem easy, but it takes constant focus every single day and deliberate work to keep it going!
Is it about living to 150 years old, or living your best life for as long as possible? The biohacking movement has sparked so much interest in health and longevity. We all agree that we must start with the basics like nutrition, exercise, sleep, etc. We also feel that the tradition medical system has failed us and we must be the CEO of our health. Listen in on our discussion on biohacking.
Sometimes firing a client is necessary. We have made the mistake of letting certain clients and employees stay too long. You have to do the hard thing that will be the right thing for your organization in the long run.
In this episode was talk about a lot - including the late Bill Walsh's opinion on his retirement. We also get into the reasons we never wanted to have professional athletes in the gym. Our general population clients are the real superstars!
In this episode we talk about how hard it is to start a business, but how the difficult times make it all worth it in the end. The grind is never-ending; kill it everyday because no one is an overnight success.
